Fundamental Business Principles

Producing entertainment content is a complicated business, and much as we live for the creative side of the profession, a good producer needs to know the nuts and bolts of the legal issues that confront content creators every day. Consider this your primer on essential topics like clearances and copyrights, on-set safety, contracts and deal memos, expectations of unions and guilds, exempt and non-exempt employees, and security and cybercrime. With so much of your time, energy and budget riding on every project, safeguarding yourself has never been more important. Safety, our fundamental aim

01:07
The dock levellers, designed and produced by Inkema Sistemas, fully comply with the Safety European Norms: Quality, functionality and safety are periodically evaluated throughout testing in house trials and real trials in loading bays. As an example we attach a video, showing our last loading test under extreme conditions, where two basic principles are demonstrated in case the truck leaves during loading process with the maximum load (6000 kg) not centred on top of the leveller. This is the worst possible scenario and the result is that it always blocks and stops from falling, avoiding accidents. The structure of the leveller does not suffer structural damages. This test has been done with a leveller out of the pit which also makes the test more demanding because in a loading bay, the pit also gives structural stiffness which we do not have in this case. The test has been a success.

Putting the "Fun" in "Violating the Fundamental Legal Principles of our Society"

How is it that Karen Straughan beats me to every punch? I swear I had this written before her wonderful response to that media studies windbag. More importantly: what is happening to our laws and our freedoms? I thought we were innocent until proven guilty. I thought that we had a right to a fair trial. Arcadis Global Health & Safety Day 2016

05:56
At Arcadis, the health, safety and well-being of our people, stakeholders and the community we exist in is at the forefront of everything we do. Each year, we set aside one day each November to celebrate our successes and remind ourselves of the steps we can take to ensure that each and every one of us goes home safely to our loved ones at night. This year, as we celebrate our eight annual Global Health and Safety Day and we have chosen to focus on the theme ‘Health and Safety Gets Me Home.’ Through this, we invite you to reflect on how the three key fundamental principles of Health and Safety: TRACK, If Not Me Then Who? and Stop Work Authority, have supported you or a loved one to get home safe.

Procurement Training, Purchasing Training, Supply Chain Management Training - Click to Watch Now!

01:06:25
http://www.CenterForPSCMExcellence.org - You will get FREE world-class procurement training, purchasing training and supply chain management training in this video. Omid has 18 years experience with Intel Corp, where he rose to the position of leading their entire global corporate purchasing operations organization. His experience and strength in negotiations earned him the corporate designation of "Godfather of Negotiation Planning" for the entire $2.2B global purchasing organization, thus also nicknamed, The 2 Billion Dollar Man. He has broad and rich experience in complex, high dollar value, and high stakes negotiations, total cost analysis, supply chain management, purchasing contract law, purchasing operations, purchasing policies and procedures, complex sourcing strategies, controls and risk management, selection and deployment of purchasing systems/tools, purchasing integration of mergers and acquisitions, international purchasing strategies, negotiating with different cultures, supplier performance management, procurement training, and purchasing strategy mapping and execution. YOU WILL LEARN: 1. Taking costs out of supply chain  Why asking suppliers to reduce price is an antiquated strategy  Why focusing on supplier profit reduction only attacks a very small part of TCO  How to make your suppliers excited about reducing TCO instead fighting against you  How to change your RFX (RFP, RFQ) strategy and approach forever to get far more innovative and deep cost savings responses from suppliers 2. Writing contracts to prevent & remedy TCO excursions  Why relying on the legal department to "own" the contract terms is the biggest disservice to your results and to your career  How empowering yourself with contract knowledge can liberate you from being dependent on the legal department  Why relying on the standard contract template terms can get you in lots of hot water and how to stay out of it  How to shift the focus from the contract being a safety net for when things go wrong to having it be a strategic tool to make sure things go right 3. Cost Modeling & Benchmarking for success  What the different sorts of cost models are (Should Cost, Must Cost, Total Cost)  When to use each type of cost model and when to use benchmarking  Why using the wrong type of tool will get you poor results and result in lots of wasted time 4. Using concessions to achieve Win-Win Why the traditional notion of Win-Win is completely wrong and needs to be thrown out the window  What the Art and Science of negotiations really is: Meeting ALL of your high value/high TCO objectives while knowing how to make the supplier feel good about the deal  Why listening is the most important negotiation skill and how to use it to achieve Win-Win  How to use a concessions worksheet model to ensure that you know exactly what the supplier wants, and how to deliver them some "wins" that are high value but have minimal impact to your TCO Omid goes even deeper into each of these topics in training through his website, seminars, webinars and courses. We invite you to join our community and experience a paradigm shift in purchasing that will make your career and life much less stressful and much more enjoyable. Work with Omid to rearchitect how you do procurement to CATAPULT your purchasing results, career and income potential, GUARANTEED! I'm going to talk to you today about the three principles to opening strategy. So when we get to the game we're always like, 'Uh, what do I do? There's so many pieces. I don't know how to start." Well I'm going to give you three steps that are going to help you create a strong, confident opening. First thing that we need to understand is these four center squares. These are considered a super square because this is where the center of the board is, the control center. For example, if I have my knight in the center of the board, my knight can control up to eight different squares, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8. We can see that this is a very strong place for my knight. If I have my knight on the side of the board it can only control up to four squares, 1, 2, 3, 4. Therefore, my knight is stronger in the center whereas most pieces are stronger in the center of the board. So at the beginning of the game you want to think about center control. First thing we can try and do is get our pawns into the center. Very important to try to get our pawns to control the center. The next important step that we want to focus on is piece development. Now I like to think about my pieces as they are working for me. I want to give my pieces a job. If they're sitting back here they're not happy and they're not doing anything. So my next step is to bring my pieces out and have them working for me. Usually we bring out the knights before the bishops. So I can bring my knight to F-3 and my other knight to C-3 and then I'm bringing them towards the center. Notice how I did not bring my knight to H-3, that would not be a good choice. Towards the center. Next, I want to bring my bishops out, again towards the center controlling the center squares. The next step that we always want to consider is king safety, very important. I like to consider the king like a baby. The reason I consider the king a baby is because we always want to protect our babies just like we always want to protect our king. Therefore, the best way to protect your king at the beginning of the game is to castle. Now we have two places, two ways that we can castle. You can either castle on the king's side or on the queen's side. Right away I can see that I can castle on the king's side. To castle I move my king two spaces and then bring my rook to the other side and now my king is stuck behind a little fortress or, to keep with the theme of a baby, a crib and it is protected and safe. Just to review, the three important principles are controlling the center, piece development, and king safety. Those are the three things that we can do at the beginning of the game to go into the middle game confidently.

Hazard, Risk & Safety - Understanding Risk Assessment, Management and Perception

05:31
(subtitles available in English, French, Dutch, Spanish, Chinese and Russian, German, and a French version is available here: https://youtu.be/wRmfvFYDNr8) Hazard, Risk & Safety Danger, risques et sécurité Gevaar, risico's en veiligheid Peligro, riesgo y seguridad Опасность, риск и безопасность Gefahr, Risiko und Sicherheit We all hear these terms on a daily basis. So and so a chemical, physical or a biological agent poses a risk; This or that product is a hazard or behaving a certain way is unsafe. A lot of the time “hazard” and “risk” are freely used to mean the same thing. However they are not. Hazard is the potential to cause harm. Risk on the other hand is the likelihood of harm in defined circumstances. In a nutshell, hazard and risk are not always aligned as the risk depends on the exposure to the hazard ; similarly, risk, safety and perception of risk are not always aligned; this can make political decisions regarding safety levels difficult to make, in these cases it is especially important to base them on facts rather than on subjective perceptions. http://www.greenfacts.org

But what happens when we keep ourselves so far out of harm's way that we never build resilience against the world's dangers? What if we never develop the ability to think critically because we're too busy sheltering ourselves and others from ideas that challenge how we view the world? The Coddling of the American Mind: How Good Intentions and Bad Ideas Are Setting Up a Generation for Failure co-author Jonathan Haidt joins us to sound the alarm against blind acceptance of safety measures that hold uncomfortable reality at bay and make us incapable of coping with the world as it is rather than what we wish it to be. Listen, learn, and enjoy! What Jordan Discusses with Jonathan Haidt: ❄️ Why should we be preparing the child for the road and not the road for the child? ❄️ How the concepts of safe spaces and trigger warnings are making our society less safe and less prepared for the real world. ❄️ What we should be doing instead to prepare ourselves and our kids for reality. ❄️ Cognitive distortions and how we become victims of our own flawed mindsets. ❄️ The three fundamental untruths being perpetuated by academia and the media and how we can fight these influences. ❄️ And much more... Basic CDL Air Brake Components | Air Brake Smart

Learn about air brake basics - watch the video!! SUBSCRIBE TODAY! ► http://youtube.com/c/smartdrivetest Get 30% OFF Air Brake Course. Coupon "youtube30" CLICK THE LINK https://www.smartdrivetest.com/pass-cdl-air-brakes-course There are 6 basic components on an air brake equipped vehicle: 1) compressor; 2) governor; 3) air tanks; 4) air lines; 5) brake pedal; 6) foundation brakes. The air compressor on an air brake equipped vehicle is exactly the same as an air compressor you would find in a garage. The only difference is that an air compressor on an air brake equipped vehicle runs the entire time the motor is running; therefore, it is controlled by the governor. The governor controls the maximum and minimum setting of the air compressor because the air compressor is capable of pumping up to 500psi (pounds per square inch). The governor must return the air compressor to the load or cut-in phase by a minimum of 80psi. And it must return the air compressor to the cut-out or unload phase by a maximum pressure of 135psi. All air brake systems are equipped with a safety valve, which blows off excess pressure at 150psi. You will know it is the safety valve because it makes a sound like a machine gun. The air tanks or reservoirs store compressed air. As well, the air tanks are the first fail-safe of the air brake system because these store enough compressed air for 10-12 full service brake applications. The air lines direct compressed air through the air brake system. The air lines are not coloured coded except the service and supply lines that connect the semi-trailer to the tractor or truck. The brake pedal applies the service brakes, which are the brakes that bring the vehicle to a stop while it's going up and down the road. And the foundation brakes are the components of the air brake system that are actually responsible for bringing the vehicle to a stop: • brake chambers • push rod • slack adjuster • 'S' cam • brake shoes (pads) • brake drum • rotor • callipers And the foundation brakes can be any of the following; however, drum and disc brakes are most common on today's vehicles: • drum ('S' cam) brakes • disc brakes • wedge brakes • CamLaster brakes • air-over-hydraulic brakes The foundation brakes—in this day & age—will be 2 basic types: drum or disc brakes. Foundation brakes also consist of air-over-hydraulic and wedge brakes - you will need to know the latter for the purposes of the air brake knowledge test. Good luck on your road test! ********************** www.smartdrivetest.com www.facebook.com/smartdrivetest www.twitter.com/smartdrivetest www.instagram.com/smartdrivetest

Standard & Isolation Precautions Nursing | Infection Control Contact, Droplet, Airborne PPE NCLEX

17:10
Nursing standard precautions and isolation precautions (nursing) review for the NCLEX exam. This review will cover standard precautions for infection control and transmission-based precautions (also called isolation precautions) such as contact, droplet, and airborne precautions. In addition, I will give you 3 isolation precaution mnemonics on how to remember droplet, contact, and airborne precautions. Standard precautions are precautions we follow with every patient at all times because we do not know if the person has an infectious disease or not. This is to protect ourselves and other patients. Standard precautions include: hand hygiene, wearing appropriate PPE (personal protective equipment), injection safety, respiratory/cough etiquette, patient room placement, handling of patient laundry and equipment. Isolation precautions are precautions we follow when we know or suspect a patient has an infectious disease. Depending on the type of infectious disease the patient has we will place the patient in the appropriate precautions. For example, if a patient has Pertussis (whooping cough) we will place the patient in droplet precautions. As the nurse, we would continue to follow standard precautions along with always wearing a surgical mask during patient contact. For a patient in airborne precautions, we would wear an N95 mask along with following standard precautions and place the patient in a special AIIR room (which is a negative pressure room). Amazon Link: https://amzn.to/2zouq7V Website link: https://scientificwayoflife.com/ Everything in the universe abides by the fundamental laws and principles of the universe, including our lives. We are made of trillions and trillions of proton, neutron and electrons. Our lives are the personification of quantum mechanics. To naturally gain success, happiness and safety we need to align our lives with the fundamental laws and principles of the universe. For that, understand how quantum mechanics and consciousness work together. And Master the techniques of controlling the fundamental forces of the universe acting in our lives. Learn about this and more through The Scientific Way of Life Book Series. To start your journey of aligning your life with the fundamental forces of the universe, it is very important to first understand the nature of the creator of the universe, consciousness. Consciousness is not confined to our awareness. It is the form of an existence which acts through our awareness. It is the intelligence that makes us behave like the human. Robots cannot think like human beings, because they lack the awareness and the intelligence that works through human awareness. However, this intelligence is not confined to the human body, it acts throughout the universe. It is also the intelligence of the universe. In the book, you will understand how exactly this intelligence of consciousness works throughout the universe and influences every existence including our lives. This understanding is important to align our lives with the fundamental forces of the universe. Learn more about this in the book '17 Characteristics of Consciousness'. We are looking for stocks that we expect will move in a predictable direction. We want to take a position with a predefined stop level and profit target. Sounds easy right? In a lot of ways it is. But there are literally thousands of different strategies for trading the market. Every trader has a unique approach to trading. Our goal is to teach you our strategies. I have developed a series of profitable trading strategies for beginners. Our Trading Courses focus on the most fundamental aspects of a successful trade. // Chart Patterns After you understand risk management and proper stock selection, we teach you how to find stock patterns on charts. These patterns are how we base our risk and reward. We look for chart patterns that have well defined areas of support and resistance. We will use previous support levels as our stop price, or our risk, and we look at previous resistance areas as our initial profit target, or our reward. If the profit vs loss ratio is 2:1 we will take the trade. I teach both day trading strategies and swing trading strategies. For day trading we focus primarily on 5min charts while swing traders focus more on daily charts. The patterns in general are the same. I teach traders how to find patterns in real-time including Bull Flags, Bear Flags, Flat Tops, Flat Bottoms, and Rubber Band Reversal Setups. // Trading Strategies Learning risk management, proper stock selection, and chart patterns is important, but those alone don’t create a trading strategy. A trading strategy requires details on the time of day you take these trades, what type of stocks you like to trade, what percentage to success you expect. All our students are required to papertrade and prove to me that they can trade on a percentage of success that is high enough to justify real trading. If you can’t make money in a demo account, you have no business trading a real account. We have saved students hundreds of thousands of dollars by encouraging paper trading while they are learning. The market will be here for a long time to come. The important thing for you right now is to build up the skills to trade the market successfully. You will learn that once you possess the skills to consistently make $20.00/day all it takes to make $200 is larger share size. Then all it takes to make $2000 is again, larger share size. The hardest part is being consistently green just $20/day. So that is our initial target for all of our students. Profitable trading 4/5 days per week for at least 3 months. I'm going to go over five basic fundamentals that you should know for indoor rock climbing. One of the first fundamentals is just general body awareness and being able to identify your center of gravity. You want to use that to be able to keep your weight in balance, which would be the second fundamental, learning how to balance and shift your weight. And once you've identified that center of gravity, keeping that weight over your feet, so you're going to be pushing with your legs, rather than pulling with your arms, which brings us to the next fundamental, of climbing with straight arms. Using this position is much more beneficial as far as the efficiency of your movement goes. Right now, with my arms straight, I'm not taking any energy to pull myself in. You can see my left leg is bent here, so as I initiate this movement up, I'll be pushing rather than pulling. That allows for much more efficient motion. We also have two other basic fundamental techniques, known as edging and flagging. Edging is when you're using your climbing shoes to basically be edging on a hold. So, I can use both the inside edge and the outside edge of my climbing shoes. Both should be applied frequently to change your body position and help you move in balance. For example, I can use the outside edge of my right foot here to keep my right hip close to the wall, so that as I move up, that center of gravity is going to stay over my let, allowing me to push, rather than pull. I've also grabbed that next hold with a straight arm, rather than with a bent arm, saving me a little bit of energy. Flagging is a technique that's fundamental, once again, for keeping your balance. Flagging comes in handy when all of the holds are on the same side of your body. Right now, to stay in balance, it'd be a little tricky for me to move without having my body kind of swing around a little bit, which is a big waste of energy. So, with one foot up, with my right hand and my right foot inline, I can flag my left foot to help keep that center of gravity better aligned. What that would look like while moving, would be either flagging in this direction to keep that center of gravity centered over my foot, or if I switch hands and feet, I can flag in the other direction to highlight the same principle. All right, so that was five fundamentals for rock climbing indoors.

Fundamental Elements of Good Design

17:28
Permaculture is fundamentally a design science. In this video I review the five main categories of design including the users (people), function, responsible and healthy aspects of design, sustainability, and technology used in good design. I review important elements, in each of these categories, which merit your consideration when designing a project. Certainly some of these design elements do not need to be considered for small projects on the homestead or the small-scale farm. However I have included each of the elements that I consider before taking on a large project. Bear in mind that each one of these elements is made up of consideration of multiple factors. Thank you for taking the time to watch this video. Please feel free to leave comments and suggestions as I hope to learn how to better present information in the future. If you like the video please give me a thumbs-up and share the video with your friends. Don't forget to subscribe so that you don't miss any videos in the future. I am putting an affiliate link below in case you are interested in purchasing any of the books from the authors listed.
