Check out our new website for more incredible history documentaries: HD and ad-free. http://bit.ly/2O6zUsK On 15th November 1532, when the Spanish Conquistadors climbed high into the Andes on a mission to conquer the Inca people, 170 Spaniards met a force of 40,000 Incas. In the first of this two-part series, Dr William Sullivan examines why Andean civilisation could possibly have been conquered as a result of this battle and why a clash of cultural beliefs could have caused the downfall of the largest nation state to have ever existed in the western hemisphere. In one of the strangest events in all recorded history, Spaniards after adventure, fortune and power, to their own amazement seized this seemingly infallible empire. What the Spaniards never knew, however, and what history does not record, was that the Andean people had been aware of the imminence of this event for some 100 years through a complex and systematic charting of the stars. The Inca Empire at its peak was the largest kingdom on Earth The Incas were master builders, fearsome warriors and practitioners of human sacrifice. Yet this mighty state was conquered by a small band of Spanish adventurers. 7000 men were killed and 10,000 injured. But how could the Incas let this happen? The Secret Of The Incas tells the story of one man’s search to unlock one of the world’s great mysteries. Anthropologist Bill Sullivan found the answer in the myths handed down from generation to generation of Incas and finally to Jesuit priests. The Incas were fine astrologists and believed events in the stars paralleled events on earth, only 100 years hence. During the reign of the first Inca, they foretold the end of Inca civilisation in 1532 – the year the Spanish invaded. The Incas’ tragic secret was that they believed they were doomed – and that resistance was futile. Want to watch more full-length Documentaries? Most Amazing Cities Found UNDERWATER!

11:30
Here is the top list of mysterious sunken underwater cities in the world found underwater! These strange and mindblowing but also amazing forgotten ancient underwater ruins are located deep into the ocean. Check out Alexandria, City of Cuba, Yonaguni, Lake Titicaca, Pavlopetri, Lion City, Heracleion and more underwater cities! Yonaguni Pyramids In the mid 80s, Divers found underwater rock terraces and pyramids off the coast of Yonaguni Jima. Yonaguni Jima is an island that lies near the southern tip of Japan's Ryukyu archipelago, About 75 miles off the eastern coast of Taiwan. At first scientists believed they might be natural formations, but There are quarry marks and some writing on the stones and animal statues that have also been found underwater. Now some experts believe that The structures Could be what is left of the mythical city of Mu, a fabled Pacific civilization rumored to have vanished beneath the waves. Masaki Kimura, a marine geologist from the University of Japan, Has been studying the underwater pyramids for over 15 years. The underwater structures include castle ruins, a triumphal arch, five temples and at least one large stadium, all of which are Connected by roads and water channels and are partly shielded by what could be huge retaining walls. Kimura believes the ruins date back to at least 5,000 years, based on the dates of stalactites found inside underwater caves that he says sank with the city. The theory is that the ancient underwater city Might have been sunk by an earthquake or tsunami around 2,000 years ago. Yonaguni invites tourists and researchers to dive freely around the site. 2. Sunken City of Cuba In 2001, A company called Advanced Digital Communications (ADC) was working with Fidel Castro's government to explore Cuban waters looking for sunken Spanish ships loaded with treasure. Their Sonar equipment picked up a series of geometrical structures lying on the bottom of the ocean. Here's a computer generated image of the pyramids and other structures found underwater. The structures and design made it look like there was A gigantic underwater city at the bottom of the Bermuda Triangle. The media went crazy claiming that Atlantis had been discovered in Cuba. There are local legends of the Maya and native Yucatecos that tell of an Island inhabited by their ancestors that vanished beneath the waves. If it's true the structures were made by an ancient civilization, they would have been the Most technologically advanced structures on the planet at that time. Scientists estimate that they would have been built about 50,000 years ago which doesn't seem very likely. The numerous structures and cities that have been discovered underwater around the world Lie less than 120 meters (or 395 feet) below sea level, which comes as no surprise since the sea level never fell below this mark during the time Homo sapiens walked the earth. This Cuban city, if we can call it that, is the Only exception since It is submerged over 700 meters (2300 feet) underwater. If the large structures are actually pyramids, 2 of them are Even larger than the pyramids of Giza and Cheops in Egypt. As of yet there is no plausible explanation for the existence of this city and ADC is still trying to investigate the site. 3. Lake Titicaca Lake Titicaca is Located in the Andes between Bolivia and Peru. It is the largest freshwater lake in South America and was the cradle of Peru's ancient civilizations, including the Inca. Their presence can be seen on Lake Titicaca by the ruins they left behind, including A mysterious underwater temple thought to be between 1,000 and 1,500 years old. In the Incan creation myth, The god Con Tiqui Viracocha emerged from Lake Titicaca. After commanding the sun, moon, and the stars to rise, Viracocha created more human beings from stone. After bringing them to life, Viracocha Commanded them to go and populate the world. The Incas therefore believed that Lake Titicaca was their place of origin, and that upon death, Their spirits would return to this lake. Archeologists located a huge temple in 2000 after following a submerged road (and I'm sure following advice from locals). After 18 days of diving below the clear waters of Titicaca, scientists said they had Discovered a 660-foot long, 160-foot wide temple, a terrace for crops, and a 2,600-foot containing wall along with gold and statues. It is said the lost city was Covered with sediment during a great flood of biblical proportions and local people had passed down the stories of the underwater temple and flood from generation to generation.

Threads That Speak: How The Inca Used Strings to Communicate | National Geographic

03:39
One of the great mysteries of ancient Peru is that the Inca did not have a system of writing, but communicated with a system of strings tied with knots. For the first time, centuries-old knotted textile accounting records known as quipus were found buried with well-preserved organic material. They were found at the archaeological site of Incahuasi, the base of operations for the Inca expansion along Peru’s southern coast. ➡ Subscribe: http://bit.ly/NatGeoSubscribe About National Geographic: National Geographic is the world's premium destination for science, exploration, and adventure. They built organized cities and advanced road systems, yet they had no system of hieroglyphic writing, as the Maya did. Instead, they communicated via a system of knotted textile strings known as quipus. Deciphering how to read the quipus has become one of the great mysteries of ancient Peru. At the site of Incahuasi in the Cañete Valley, archaeologists have found—for the first time—dozens of quipus buried alongside centuries-old produce. They appear to have been used for accounting in agricultural storage houses to record the amount of wood, beans, corn, chili peppers, and other items moving throughout the complex. Six-hundred-year-old beans are so well-preserved in this dry valley that they look like dried beans you would see in a market today. Archaeologists found beans and other produce so they knew they were excavating storerooms, and then they found knots. National Geographic explorer Alejandro Chu explains that this is significant for quipu scholars because new discoveries could help bring them closer to understanding what the accounting records mean. “Usually you find quipus related to offerings, or funerary bundles in tombs. They are left and totally disconnected from their real use,” Chu says. “One of the main reasons why the discovery of quipus in Incahuasi is amazing is because it’s one of the first times we're finding them in their original context. They are in the places where they were used.” Quipus are made of a cotton or wool strings hanging from a main cord. The knots on the strings convey meaning through their location, direction, and type. Researchers already have a basic understanding of the numerical system incorporated in the quipus, where knots represent numbers. The hope is to move beyond mathematical operations to understanding non-numerical words or phrases from the agricultural product inventories. It is a whole new body of data to add to the Quipu Database Project and to understanding this interesting form of communication. Incahuasi, or “House of the Inca,” is an important and strategic Inca city. It served as the agricultural base of operations and administrative center for the Inca expansion along southern coast in the late 15th and early 16th centuries. It transformed the valley into a thriving, productive area. In two archaeological excavation seasons led by Chu, the team has already found almost 70 quipus, and most of the vast storeroom complex at the site is yet to be excavated. A Hypothesis: How Did They Build the Peruvian Stone Walls? | Ancient Architects

13:41
The incredibly accurate, interconnecting stone blocks found throughout #Peru were not carved out of solid rock and their creation was far easier than we ever thought possible. Furthermore, the strange protrusions, nodes or nodules are nothing more than structural artefacts in their creation. With evidence of large scale heating, are these ancient stone structures actually remnants of a lost, #AncientCivilisation? Were they baked by the comet impact of the #YoungerDryas, championed by #GrahamHancock and Randall Carlson? Watch the video to learn more! Check out our new website for more incredible history documentaries: HD and ad-free. http://bit.ly/2O6zUsK In the final of this two part series, Bill Sullivan discovers that the ancient Inca myths have been translated into physical representations created in the natural landscape, demonstrating how potent and integrated Inca culture was. The Inca empire began as early as 1200 AD in the city of Cuzco, but it was not until 1438 that it began to expand across modern day Ecuador, Bolivia, Peru, and some of Argentina. At its height, the Empire was the largest nation on Earth and remains the largest nation state to have existed in the western hemisphere. The culture was sophisticated and advanced, with an organised taxation system. It was also incredibly rich and powerful. The Empires great wealth eventually became its undoing as Spanish explorers determined to conquer it at all costs. The Inca Empire at its peak was the largest kingdom on Earth. 10 Unbelievable Discoveries in Peru

07:28
From new findings at the world famous Nazca lines, to the mysterious Peruvian VAMPIRE, these are 10 UNBELIEVABLE Discoveries in Peru ! Subscribe to American Eye http://goo.gl/GBphkv 5. Vilcabamba, Peru The site of Vilcabamba was founded by the Incas in 1539 and was the last refuge for the Incas until it eventually fell to the invading Spanish Conquistadors in 1572. For a long time, it was fabled as a lost city after it was destroyed. It’s quite the journey to get there so it isn’t exactly on the list of tourist attractions. The Spanish must have had a hard time trying to find it. Anyone with royal blood, men and women, made the journey in order to live in peace. In modern times, the city was eventually rediscovered again in 1892. More explorations here were made in the 1960’s, publishing books on the last and lost city of the Incas. The stone cut marks are made with the same extreme precision as the one in Machu Picchu and were made from Bronze chisels. 4. Wari Tomb Archaeologists came across an unbelievable discovery in Peru when they found tomb that had been undisturbed for centuries! Within lies the remains of two bodies from the Wari people. One was an adult and the other was a child. Could it be, they were victims of human sacrifice like other civilizations in the Americas? Archaeologists believe yes and that the child was killed and placed next to an adult. The tomb is over 1000 years old and the bodies were wrapped in ceremonial fabric. 10 other artifacts were found and they believe that the adult was most likely a master weaver. They believe the child was killed and was buried as an offering to the adult, and not to the gods. 3. Temple of the Dead Archaeologists came across an unlooted Wari necropolis in Peru that you see in this photo, full of silver and gold artifacts. The modern day tomb raiders found rare pieces of history dating back from 700-1000 AD, containing the remains of 3 Wari queens and the remains of 60 other people, some which were human sacrifices and som e were actually well preserved. This skeleton here with the cracked skull was believed to be what’s left of a sacrificed human. Archaeologists are scrambling to piece together the bones, like you see here. The Wari tomb is the first of its kind uncovered and it really makes us wonder what else this pre Inca civilization was capable of. You have to wonder why we don’t hear more about these people in the history books. Here in this photo we see some of the golden ear ornaments worn by possibly an ancient queen. This here is a ceramic flask of a Warlord with his eye open displaying his wide body. This goes to show that woman held much more power in this tribe than previously thought. 2. Peruvian Vampires Archaeologists came across a grizzly ancient discovery and learned more about sacrificial methods of natives in this culture. Six bodies of women were sacrificed in a ritualistic tradition in a secret chamber of this temple. The ceremonies involved creepy costumes, beheading and drinking of their blood. The bodies were then faced towards the Andes mountains that were considered sacred. These were believed to be from the Lambayeque culture, also known as the Sican culture, found along the north coast of peru from 750 AD to 1375. Religious cities of this culture huge temples were constructed with secret sacrificial chambers. Some of the artifacts collected here included ceramic figures that you see in these photos. Other skeletons like this one were found, shielding its eyes, possibly from the horrific ceremony taking place. 1. The Nazca Holes You may have heard of the Nazca Lines, but have you heard about the mysterious Nazca holes? Strange spiral holes were built in the Peruvian Nazca desert and were known as Puquios. They’re still baffling archaeologists to this day. The holes were constructed to spiral downwards in funnel shape, as you can see from this photo. This could have been constructed in to play a key role in finding water, deep below the surface of the earth. Others believe it was constructed for storage. The region was clearly inhabited by an important civilization but not too much is known about them. The Nazca holes most likely had the capability of changing the entire landscape into lush, flourishing landscape, perfect for agriculture. This sophisticated designed must have had a been crucial for one of the mysterious civilizations that inhabited in Peru.

Great Wonders: Chichen Itza: An Alien City in the Maya Lowlands

48:21
Lecture given by Dr. Simon Martin, Associate Curator and Keeper of Collections, American Section. Every spring and autumn equinox thousands of people gather at the base of "El Castillo"—the pyramid at the heart of one of the ancient America's most famous and evocative cities: Chichen Itza. They come to marvel at the skill of ancient astronomers in aligning their structure in such a way that the sun casts a diamond-back shadow of a giant serpent down one of its staircases. They also come to peer into the depths of the great sinkhole known as the "Well of Sacrifice," and wander through the expanses of the "Great Ballcourt," the largest in the New World. Chichen Itza is a truly remarkable place, but the story behind it has hardly been told. There is a hidden history to these ruins and the biggest secret of all is that this great Maya metropolis is not very Maya at all. To understand the city properly it will be necessary to debunk the myths and take a journey into the symbolism behind its every carved stone—revealing its true designers and their ancient purpose.

BRIEN FOERSTER ~ "Secret Ancient Civilisations" [Age Of Truth*TV] [HD]

01:03:24
Fascinating, eye-opening and dynamic AGE OF TRUTH TV interview with american author, explorer, adventurer and researcher BRIEN FOERSTER, who has been called a real-life INDIANA JONES. Brien Foerster has traveled all over the world and explored more than 90 countries researching and uncovering secret and hidden truths about ancient civilisations on Earth. He has written 23 in-depth books (as pr. 2017) on ancient history and mysteries - with an often alternative angle, than what official history teaches us. - ARE WE BEING TOLD THE TRUTH ABOUT WORLD HISTORY? - IS THE OFFICIAL STORY ABOUT HISTORY AND ANCIENT CIVILISATIONS THE TRUTH, OR ARE WE BEING LIED TO? - IS THERE AN ALIEN CONNECTION? - WHO BUILD THE EGYPTIAN PYRAMIDS? - IS ATLANTIS AND LEMURIA (MU) REAL? - DID ANCIENT CIVILIATIONS HAVE HIGHLY ADVANCED TECHNOLOGY? - WHAT PART DOES SECRET SOCIETIES AND ELITE GROUPS PLAY IN COVERING UP THE TRUTH ABOUT HUMAN HISTORY? - ELONGATED SKULLS, CRYSTAL SKULLS - were they human? - THE INCA CIVILISATION IN PERU, EASTER ISLAND, STONEHENGE, ANCIENT SUMERIA, THE GREEK CIVILISATION, ANCIENT EGYPT and much more... In this 60 minutes AGE OF TRUTH TV interview from 2013, presenter Lucas Alexander has a dynamic conversation and exchange with Brien Foerster, with a look at some ancient artifacts and an in-depth talk about Foersters amazing and fascinating lifelong research. The interview was filmed on 22 September 2013 at the Open Mind Conference Audonicon in Skanderborg, Denmark. BRIEN FOERSTER: "Secret Ancient Civilisations" Interview by AOT TV presenter: Lucas Alexander Cinematographer: Lauge Felix Black Camera & Technicians Erik Hansen-Hansen Mike Kirkeby Pedersen Special Thanks: Brien Foerster, Open Mind Conference Denmark. http://www.ageoftruth.tv © AGE OF TRUTH TV 2013 - ℗ 2017 PLEASE WATCH (Invite people to watch) LIKE AND SHARE :-) :-) Age Of Truth TV: We thank you, our viewers for your great support :-) _______________________________ BRIEN FOERSTER BIOGRAPHY: Brien Foerster was born in the US, but moved to the west coast of Canada as a child, where he became immediately fascinated by the Native traditions of people such as the Haida. He learned to carve totem poles, canoes, masks and other ceremonial things from master Native carvers, and became a professional sculptor at age 26, basically dropping his career as a marine biologist. The Inca were the largest civilization in the pre-Colombian Americas and are attributed to have created some of the finest megalithic structures ever produced on earth. However, oral traditions and scientific evidence are shedding light on the reality that up to three more technologically advanced cultures preceded the Inca, and that some of the finest stone works date back more than 10,000 years. Modern engineers are baffled by how these structures were made, and have to speculate that long ago vibrational high technology must have existed. Also, the presence of people with elongated skulls are found wherever the megalithic structures exist. This presentation will discuss the inter-related nature of the magnificent stone structures of ancient Peru and Bolivia, and those that created them in the very distant past. _________________________ http://www.ageoftruth.tv

Machu Picchu - The City of the Incas

06:19
Machu Picchu - The City of the Incas The ruins of Machu Picchu are one of the most beautiful and enigmatic ancient sites in the world. While the Inca people used the Andean mountain top, erecting many hundreds of stone structures from the early 1400's, legends and myths indicate that Machu Picchu (meaning 'Old Peak' in the Quechua language) was revered as a sacred place from a far earlier time. Invisible from below and completely self-contained, surrounded by agricultural terraces sufficient to feed the population, and watered by natural springs, Machu Picchu seems to have been utilized by the Inca as a secret ceremonial city. Two thousand feet above the rumbling Urubamba river, the cloud shrouded ruins have palaces, baths, temples, storage rooms and some 150 houses. These structures, carved from the gray granite of the mountain top are wonders of both architectural and aesthetic genius. Many of the building blocks weigh 50 tons or more yet are so precisely sculpted and fitted together with such exactitude that the mortarless joints will not permit the insertion of even a thin knife blade. Little is known of the social or religious use of the site during Inca times. One assumption is that the site may have been a sanctuary for the training of priestesses and /or brides for the Inca nobility. In the cool shade of granite I take in the whole of Machu Picchu. Panoramic terraced walls sweep up at every turn deep in the Peruvian Andes, I find comfort in the simple fact that love, is the key. Each time we pour forth loving intention we heal ourselves and we heal one another. One of Machu Picchu's primary functions was that of astronomical observatory. The Intihuatana stone (meaning 'Hitching Post of the Sun') has been shown to be a precise indicator of the date of the two equinoxes and other significant celestial periods. The Intihuatana (also called the Saywa or Sukhanka stone) is designed to hitch the sun at the two equinoxes. At midday on March 21st and September 21st, the sun stands almost directly above the pillar, creating no shadow at all. At this precise moment the sun "sits with all his might upon the pillar" and is for a moment "tied" to the rock. At these periods, the Incas held ceremonies at the stone in which they "tied the sun" to halt its northward movement in the sky. There is also an Intihuatana alignment with the December solstice (the summer solstice of the southern hemisphere), when at sunset the sun sinks behind Pumasillo (the Puma's claw), the most sacred mountain of the western Vilcabamba range, but the shrine itself is primarily equinoctial. http://www.poeticliterature.com/ Standing on the wooded ridgeline where the Inca trail passes through the Sun Gate at Machu Picchu, I look down at the ancient Inca ruins. In that moment I realized I always knew that I would be here. It felt both inexplicably familiar and at the same time wondrously new and novel. Stones upon stones upon stones impossibly carved to a standard of harmony that is barely imaginable; an impeccably designed stone mosaic of walkways, arches, roads, walls, rooms, windows, doorways, and fountains, as expressions of the Divine. Stones, plants, water and imagination braided together as living testaments to the uncanny history of humans interacting with nature.

City Beneath The Waves - Pavlopetri | BBC Documentary

49:57
Once a thriving port that dominated the Mediterranean, at least 2000 years ago Pavlopetri was mysteriously lost to the waves. Discovered in 1967, nestled in a natural harbour just off the southern Greek coast, this is the oldest submerged city in the world, created at the dawn of Western civilisation. Its stone foundations, tombs and the remains of its temples have been preserved intact in serene waters, tantalisingly off limits - until now. This film invites you to join the mission of the only archaeological team ever granted permission to dig the site by the Greek authorities. Quest For The Lost City (Mayan History Documentary) | Timeline

Check out our new website for more incredible history documentaries: HD and ad-free. http://bit.ly/2O6zUsK A set of inscribed panels carved by the ancient Maya people of Central America inspired Dr Neil Brodie of Cambridge University, an expert on the looting of archaeological treasures, and Mayanist Simone Clifford-Jaegar, to mount an expedition to the jungles of Guatemala. Their mission – to find the lost city from which the stone panels came. Archaeologists have been searching for the mysterious place known as Site Q since the 1960s without success. Quest For The Lost City travels down the Usumacinta River, a site well-travelled by experts; and then deep into the jungle where the explorers find a recently discovered ‘lost city’. Here, the mystery of Site Q takes a surprising and revelatory new turn thanks to a sporting hero named ‘Red Turkey’, a map showing two stones in the jungle clearing, and a Museum Director in Maine... Nan Madol Off the coast of the island of Pohnpei in Micronesia stand the ruins of the ancient city of Nan Madol. The only ancient city ever built entirely on a coral reef, the city is made up of almost 100 artificial islands made of coral fill and stone, separated by narrow canals and protected by an outer seawall. Like Easter Island, this place is an engineering marvel!! 7. Teotihuacan Before Europeans came to North America, an unknown culture arose in central Mexico and built a grand city that we have come to know as Teotihuacan. In its heyday, it was a city that covered 20 square kilometers (13 square miles) and was home to 200,000 people, all of them in carefully constructed and delineated neighborhoods where people were grouped according to the crafts that they constructed. 6. Puma Punku The massive ancient city of Tiwanaku in Bolivia is dominated by a temple complex called Puma Punku that has puzzled archaeologists for decades. The city was already standing when the Inca moved into the region in 1470, although it was completely abandoned. 5. Ggantija, Malta On the Mediterranean island of Gozo, one of the islands of Malta, stands a megalithic temple complex that predates the pyramids of Egypt. The two towers were built during the Neolithic Age, between 3600 and 2500 BC. They are the second-oldest manmade religious structures in the world. Number one is coming up so stay tuned!! 4. Stonehenge The Salisbury Plain in England is home to possibly the most famous mysterious megalithic structure in the world, so of course, I had to mention it! Stonehenge was built from 3000 BC to 2000 BC, constructed in a series of stages. The site currently consists of a ring of standing stones, each stone at least 4 meters (13 feet) tall, 2.1 meters (7 feet) wide, and weighing around 25 tons. 3. Newgrange Another Neolithic site, with important astrological alignment, can be found at Newgrange in Ireland’s Boyne Valley. Older than Stonehenge and the Great Pyramids of Giza, Newgrange was originally believed to be a tomb, but it’s actually a temple complex that was built by Stone Age farmers more than 5,200 years ago in 3200 BC. 2. Skara Brae Located on the windy Orkney Islands of northern Scotland stands the Neolithic settlement known as Skara Brae. The most complete Neolithic village in Europe, Skara Brae was probably occupied between 3180 BC and 2500 BC. 1. Göbekli Tepe Its name is Turkish for “potbelly hill,” and it’s the most recently found ancient structure on this list. Found on the plains of Anatolia, Göbekli Tepe is a man made hill, standing about 15 meters (49 feet) tall, and about 300 meters (980 feet) in diameter. Who cares?? Well It’s about 11,000 years old, making it the oldest temple structure in the world. Origins Explained is the place to be to find all the answers to your questions, from mysterious events and unsolved mysteries to everything there is to know about the world and its amazing animals!
