Cold steel commissioned some forge in India, I think,,,that part is a secret. Uhhhh Windlass? dunno. Maybe the top secret cold steel forge made it. I doubt it. I was told Windlass does not have a forge. All I know is someone made it...and did a good job. Since having cold steel stamped on it,,,it's like me signing a Picasso painting. Just rude to put your name on some you did not make.
I reckon the rest of the knife companies do the same thing, In the whole scheme of things. what does it matters. There will always be men of integrity and those of disgrace.
Anyway,,,,I rate the 1917 Bowie knife a 10. I looked it very carefully and I am proud to own a pleased The sheath is well done for a 100.00 knife. Also,,,,there is much quality for the price.
I got this knife from a smart ass friend that has jokes, He is aware that I will not spend my green on cold steel items. Not as long as Thompson uses his knife company to promote the culling::::reduce the population of (a wild animal) by selective slaughter'
I buy knives and swords from people that i'm sure they hunt. CRKT. Spyderco, Kabar, Hanwei, woodsman pal, United Cutlery, MTech, Munetoshi, Ryujin, Zombie tools. You see,,,,I bet many of of people that work for these companies most likely hunt.
The do not use their site to show their hobby, regardless if it is golf, bowling, archery, flying, or the selective slaughter of wild animals.
May I suggest you focus on your interesting inventory of knives ,swords, and pole arms instead of your catalog resembling Field and Stream.
How about this idea for you to mull over; Maybe have Thompson spend some of your webpage addressing responsible hunting, Some of the teenagers copying the man they admire. Many of them buy those blow guns and shoot rabbits, song birds, doves, squirrels.....and of course those animals that if shown on youtube would be breaking the law.
Do you think you can change.Maybe just try,
