Local Vs Global Partitioned Index in Oracle 11g

17:30
The Video Explains the difference between Local Partitioned Indexes(Prefixed vs Non Prefixed Indexes). and Global Partitioned Index along with the challenges in maintaining Global partitioned Indexes when the underlying tables partitioned is dropped/truncated/Merged/Moved. Local Partitioned Index Shares the same boundaries as the table and are in the same number as table partitions they are widely used in DSS and DWH systems. While Global Partitioned Index are predominantly used in OLTP systems

SQL Server 34 - How to Create and Drop Indexes

05:15
Creating indexes is a very easy task, but before you go creating indexes on everything, you need to know that some columns are indexed by default. Specifically, any column that is labeled as the PRIMARY KEY or UNIQUE are indexed by default. That means that if you have a UNIQUE column, you do not need to worry about adding an INDEX to it. The columns that you will want to pay special attention to are any foreign keys or columns that you are going to use very frequently. We are going to create an index on our SpeciesID column in our Animals table. This is a foreign key that I'm likely going to use very frequently. CREATE INDEX IX_AnimalsSpecies ON Animals (SpeciesID); The syntax is very similar to CREATE TABLE in that you say CREATE INDEX followed by an index name. The IX_ is a prefix that is sometimes conventionally used to name indexes. Next, we have the table name, and then we have something to describe the column. That way if you see IX_AnimalsSpecies, you automatically know it is talking about an Index for the Animals table that is on the column dealing with the species. To get rid of this index, use this: DROP INDEX IX_AnimalsSpecies; Which is also very similar to how we drop a table. Now, you can also create an INDEX on multiple columns if you are going to use them together very often. The way you do that is just add another column after a comma inside of the () in the index columns. For example: CREATE INDEX IX_AnmialsContact ON Animals (Name, ContactEmail); One other thing I wanted to show you is that you can actually create a UNIQUE Index by adding the keyword in: CREATE UNIQUE INDEX IX_Species ON Species (Species); This should only be used if every value for a column is labeled unique…In fact, it forces every row to be unique. Remember though that if a column is labeled UNIQUE, it is indexed by default...So this is not needed in this situation. In the next video we will discuss in more detail whether you want to use the UNIQUE Constraint create a UNIQUE index. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Support me! http://www.patreon.com/calebcurry Subscribe to my newsletter: http://bit.ly/JoinCCNewsletter Donate!: http://bit.ly/DonateCTVM2. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Additional Links~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ More content: http://CalebCurry.com Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/CalebTheVideoMaker Google+: https://plus.google.com/+CalebTheVideoMaker2 Twitter: http://twitter.com/calebCurry Amazing Web Hosting - http://bit.ly/ccbluehost (The best web hosting for a cheap price!)

MySQL 15 - Auto Increment (AUTO_INCREMENT)

05:19
If you are using surrogate keys, every row is going to need to have a unique value for this column. The easiest way to do this is to just count upwards. The downside is that every time you insert data you are going to have to know what number to use. Fortunately, there is an easier way, with what is known as an AUTO_INCREMENT column. An AUTO_INCREMENT column is a column in a table that automatically counts upwards. If we set the PK column as an AUTO_INCREMENT column, we do not have to worry about keeping track of the numbers we've already used. Now, you can only have one AUTO_INCREMENT column per table, and you can only have one primary key per table. AUTO_INCREMENT has to be used on a primary key or a unique index. It makes sense to make the primary key column the AUTO_INCREMENT column, but you can create any other column as the AUTO_INCREMENT column as long as it has a UNIQUE index. So, for example, if you wanted to use a natural primary key but wanted to have a column that auto increments, you could do that by making the incrementing column UNIQUE. Now, the AUTO_INCREMENT does not force the data to never change. It is important to understand that the concept of surrogate and natural keys is foreign to the database. The database does not care what kind of key you use, as long as the qualifications are met. There are no keywords that say surrogate. There are no keywords that say natural. These are categories that we've made to help us better communicate about primary keys. An interesting thing you can do with primary keys is that you can make a combination of columns the primary key. This is important when more than one column is required to make something unique. In an intermediary table, instead of having an association ID, we can have the combination of two rows as the primary key. This is known as either a compound or composite primary key. In the situation of using natural keys, composite keys are more common. For example, you could have a shopping website that allows multiple people from the same household to use a certain coupon you sent out. In this situation, you could use the address and the person's name as the natural primary key. How do we reference primary keys? This requires what is known as a foreign key, which we will discuss in the next video. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Support me! http://www.patreon.com/calebcurry Subscribe to my newsletter: http://bit.ly/JoinCCNewsletter Donate!: http://bit.ly/DonateCTVM2. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Additional Links~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ More content: http://CalebCurry.com Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/CalebTheVideoMaker Google+: https://plus.google.com/+CalebTheVideoMaker2 Twitter: http://twitter.com/calebCurry Amazing Web Hosting - http://bit.ly/ccbluehost (The best web hosting for a cheap price!)

PRM-DUL untruncate Oracle Tables ,recover truncated oracle table data

02:41
Why DUL? Doesn’t need the database or the instance to be open Does not use recovery, archive logs etc… It doesn’t care about data consistency more tolerant to data corruptions Does not require the SYTEM tablespace to recover DUL is a utility that can unload data from “badly damaged” databases. DUL will scan a database file, recognize table header blocks, access extent information, and read all rows Creates a SQL*Loader or Export formatted output matching SQL*Loader control file is also generated If data files are not available for the SYSTEM TableSpace the unload can still continue but USER, TABLE and COLUM names will not be known. Identifying the tables can be an overwhelming task. But it can be (and has been) done. You need in depth knowledge about your application and the application tables. Column types can be guessed by DUL, but table and column names are lost. Any old SYSTEM tablespace from the same database but weeks old can be of great help!. Most of the information that DUL uses does not change. (only the dataobj# is during truncate or index rebuild)

What is the differences between Temporary Table and Global Temporary Table In MSSQL Server

11:59
In this video you will find difference between Temporary table and global temporary table. The scope of temporary table is only up-to current windows connection once you you will closed that then it automatically has been deleted by MSSQL server. So let's see the main difference between here. Temporary Table: 1) table name must start with # prefix of table name. 2) Scope of this table up-to current session window. 3) Multiple user can create same name temporary table. 4)you can't access temporary table outside scope. Global Temporary Table: 1) table name must start with ## prefix of table name. 2) Scope of this table up-to current MSSQL server opened window. 3)Global table can only be unique name.Multiple use can't create same name global tables. 4) you can access Global temporary table outside scope. Chapter 15 to Chapter 18 : Index, Synonym & Data Dictionary

11:13
Indexes Indexes are the database objects that are used to tune the performance of the SELECT query. There are different types of indexes including those used to enforce primary key constraints, unique indexes,non-unique indexes, and concatenated indexes, among others.Without indexes, queries would require Oracle to scan all rows in a table in order to return the required rows for the result table. An index is created on table columns, which then stores all the values of the column under index segment.Unlike sequence, indexes are table specific. They are automatically dropped once the table has been dropped. Synonyms A synonym is an alias, that is,a form of shorthand used to simplify the task of referencing a database object. The concept is analogous to the use of nicknames for friends and acquaintances.Referencing an object owned by another user requires the schema name to be prefixed with it. With the help of a synonym, you reduce the effort of referencing the object along with the schema name.In this way, synonym provides location transparency because the synonym name hides the actual object name and its owner.

5 Great Tips You Need to Know About phpmyadmin

14:18
In today's tips and tricks we give you 5 tips that you need to know about phpmyadmin. Website - http://bit.ly/2movgwN Twitter - http://bit.ly/2nG01h1 Facebook - http://bit.ly/2mPVB2R Instagram - http://bit.ly/2nvNSL6 Today on UV Design Tips and Tricks, we show you five great tips you need to know about phpMyAdmin. Alright, before we get started with today’s tutorial, I have kind of a pre-announcement, stay tuned at the end, I have some exciting news about somethings we’re going to change already on the channel, it’s for the better. And I’ve already been told by one of the viewers that it would help out a lot, so we’re going to do it. Hurray for this, yay, stay tuned. Alright, so phpMyAdmin, it can be a very scary thing when it comes to databases, because you’re not used to seeing it, it’s not very well explained, and it’s just scary looking, right. So today we’re going to show you five great tips that you should know about being inside phpMyAdmin, and working on your database. So what a database is, it stores data for your website, users, content, how websites work, WordPress, Druple, Joomla, and tons of other types of websites, custom websites, all use databases. The two most common ones are MySQL, which are used on Linux servers, and which can be used on Windows servers, and then you also have MSSQL databases, and those are only ran on Windows operating system servers. Today we’re going to be talking about phpMyAdmin, which is basically the interface to take a look at MySQL databases, and stuff. So here, we have our database, Fix In Post Films, this is the database that we’ve been using for these past WordPress tutorials, and we’re just going to take a look at here. So, for number one, I have an error token mismatch, that’s fantastic. So let’s even backtrack even earlier to going jump right into the database. You have cPanel right here, again your cPanel might look different, you might not even have cPanel. But if you have a database, there’s a way to get inside there, it’s through phpMyAdmin. And here we go. Sort of, slowly. Alright, so we have phpMyAdmin loaded up for us to view. And right here, we have our database, this is the name of the database that we’ve been using for the WordPress install that we’ve been working on for the past couple tutorials, we’re going to keep on chugging. So the first thing is, here’s your database name, click on that, and here are the tables. Tables are what make databases, and inside those tables, you have rows. And over here, you have, it tells you how many rows are inside each database. So you can literally click on this table, and now you can see all the rows associated with this. All that kind of works the same, no matter if you’re using Joomla, Jouple, I mean even a custom database, they all work the same as long as you have everything labeled correctly, and working in a beautiful fashion, your database will be amazing. So again, we’re just using a WordPress database, but most of these tips are for general phpMyAdmin, and generally MySQL databases, so it’s not specifically for WordPress, we’re just using a WordPress database. So the number one thing I’m going to show you here is users. Again, in WordPress it’s whatever prefix underscore users, Joomla it’s the same, Jouple it’s the same, and again, if you custom created yours, I hope you named your users, unless you didn’t, you named it somewhere else, then again, you probably wouldn’t be watching this tutorial, because you already know what you’re doing. So anyways, click on Users, and in this row, make sure you have Browse on here, make sure Users is clicked, and here is your user. You can’t have a lot more users, again, if you have people signed up, if they’ve bought stuff through your store before, through like root commerce or anything, you’re going to see all your users when they log in, this where it’s stored at. I don’t have anything else to log in but me, so here’s the only one you will see. So, here we have this, so you sign in here, and man, I don’t remember my password. What do I do? Well you go inside phpMyAdmin, and you change it. So, we’re going to click Edit, and we have each now, row that makes up that particular user, and here we have password. So this is password that’s encrypted, we won’t know what that is. And there’s no way of knowing what that is, so you have to change it. You can change it to whatever you want. For the sake of this tutorial, we’re just going to call it password. I hope to God, Jeebus, higher on up powers, whoever you look up to, that you do not use password as your actual password, we’re just using it for the sake of this tutorial.............................

Part 18 Load xml data into sql server table using sqlbulkcopy

11:58
In this video we will discuss 1. What is the use of SqlBulkCopy class 2. Loading xml data into sql server table using sqlbulkcopy What is the use of SqlBulkCopy class SqlBulkCopy class is used to bulk copy data from different data sources to SQL Server database. This class is present in System.Data.SqlClient namespace. This class can be used to write data only to SQL Server tables. However, the data source is not limited to SQL Server, any data source can be used, as long as the data can be loaded to a DataTable instance or read with a IDataReader instance. From a performance standpoint, SqlBulkCopy makes it very easy and efficient to copy large amounts of data. Loading xml data into sql server table using sqlbulkcopy The following are the steps to achieve this using SqlBulkCopy class Step 1 : Create the database tables using the following sql script Create table Departments ( ID int primary key, Name nvarchar(50), Location nvarchar(50) ) GO Create table Employees ( ID int primary key, Name nvarchar(50), Gender nvarchar(50), DepartmentId int foreign key references Departments(Id) ) GO Step 2 : Create a new empty asp.net web application project. Name it Demo. Step 3 : Add a new xml file to the project. Name it Data.xml. Copy and paste the following XML. [?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" ?] [Data] [Department Id="1"] [Name]IT[/Name] [Location]New York[/Location] [/Department] [Department Id="2"] [Name]HR[/Name] [Location]London[/Location] [/Department] [Department Id="3"] [Name]Payroll[/Name] [Location]Mumbai[/Location] [/Department] [Employee Id="1"] [Name]Mark[/Name] [Gender]Male[/Gender] [DepartmentId]1[/DepartmentId] [/Employee] [Employee Id="2"] [Name]John[/Name] [Gender]Male[/Gender] [DepartmentId]1[/DepartmentId] [/Employee] [Employee Id="3"] [Name]Mary[/Name] [Gender]Female[/Gender] [DepartmentId]2[/DepartmentId] [/Employee] [Employee Id="4"] [Name]Steve[/Name] [Gender]Male[/Gender] [DepartmentId]2[/DepartmentId] [/Employee] [Employee Id="5"] [Name]Ben[/Name] [Gender]Male[/Gender] [DepartmentId]3[/DepartmentId] [/Employee] [/Data] Step 4 : Include the database connection string in web.config file [connectionStrings] [add name="CS" connectionString="server=.;database=Sample;integrated security=true"/] [/connectionStrings] Step 5 : Add a new WebForm to the project. Drag and drop a button control on the webform. Double click the button control to generate the click event handler. Copy and paste the following code in the the click event handler method. string cs = ConfigurationManager.ConnectionStrings["CS"].ConnectionString; using (SqlConnection con = new SqlConnection(cs)) { DataSet ds = new DataSet(); ds.ReadXml(Server.MapPath("~/Data.xml")); DataTable dtDept = ds.Tables["Department"]; DataTable dtEmp = ds.Tables["Employee"]; con.Open(); using (SqlBulkCopy sb = new SqlBulkCopy(con)) { sb.DestinationTableName = "Departments"; sb.ColumnMappings.Add("ID", "ID"); sb.ColumnMappings.Add("Name", "Name"); sb.ColumnMappings.Add("Location", "Location"); sb.WriteToServer(dtDept); } using (SqlBulkCopy sb = new SqlBulkCopy(con)) { sb.DestinationTableName = "Employees"; sb.ColumnMappings.Add("ID", "ID"); sb.ColumnMappings.Add("Name", "Name"); sb.ColumnMappings.Add("Gender", "Gender"); sb.ColumnMappings.Add("DepartmentId", "DepartmentId"); sb.WriteToServer(dtEmp); } } Note: Please make sure to include the following using declarations using System; using System.Configuration; using System.Data; using System.Data.SqlClient; Text version of the video http://csharp-video-tutorials.blogspot.com/2014/09/part-18-load-xml-data-into-sql-server.html Slides http://csharp-video-tutorials.blogspot.com/2014/09/part-18-load-xml-data-into-sql-server_23.html All ADO .NET Text Articles http://csharp-video-tutorials.blogspot.com/p/free-adonet-video-tutorial.html All ADO .NET Slides http://csharp-video-tutorials.blogspot.com/p/adonet-slides.html All Dot Net and SQL Server Tutorials in English https://www.youtube.com/user/kudvenkat/playlists?view=1&sort=dd All Dot Net and SQL Server Tutorials in Arabic https://www.youtube.com/c/KudvenkatArabic/playlists
