CON6851 API Design with Java 8 Lambdas and Streams
During Java’s 20-year history, a set of API design idioms and styles has emerged, based on the existing language features and APIs. Certain language features, such as generics, have had a great impact: 12 years after their introduction, APIs that use raw types look distinctly old-fashioned. Java 8 has introduced lambda expressions, methods implementations in interfaces, and a new Streams library. These changes raise new design issues for API designers. Like previous changes to the language, the new Java 8 features will have an impact on the way APIs are designed and used. This presentation examines a variety of techniques and idioms enabled by these new features and shows how API design has already begun to evolve in Java 8. Speakers: Brian Goetz, Java Language Architect, Oracle Brian Goetz is the Java Language Architect at Oracle, and was specification lead for JSR-335 (Lambda Expressions for the Java Language.) He is the author of the best-selling book "Java Concurrency in Practice" and is a frequent presenter at major industry conferences. Stuart Marks, Principal Member of Technical Staff, Oracle Stuart Marks is a Principal Member of Technical Staff in the Java Platform Group at Oracle. He is currently working on a variety of JDK core libraries projects, including Collections, Lambda, and Streams, as well as improving test quality and performance. He has previously worked on JavaFX and Java ME at Sun Microsystems. He has over twenty years of software platform product development experience in the areas of window systems, interactive graphics, and mobile and embedded systems. Stuart holds a Master's degree in Computer Science and a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University.

How to Use SAS - Lesson 3 - Importing External Data
Bitcoin donations are welcome: 1GGV3gbJeA83FWmz9hDfPri8EuqcUtodXy Mike's SAS Tutorials Lesson 3 Update: Many users have expressed an interest in using my cheat sheet. Ultimately, my goal was to encourage users to create their own cheat sheets to learn from. However, if you'd like to use mine, it is available for purchase at the following web page using PayPal: https://www.e-junkie.com/ecom/gb.php?i=1077465&c=single&cl=207650 This video series is intended to help you learn how to program using SAS for your statistical needs. Lesson 3 introduces the concept of permanent or external data sets and how to import them into SAS. I provide basic methods of importing permanent data sets using the INFILE statement and the IMPORT procedure (PROC IMPORT) for non-SAS based data files. I also discuss libraries and the LIBNAME statement to import SAS data directly using the SET statement. Finally, I show how one can save a SAS data set from the data step using LIBNAMEs in the DATA step. Helpful Notes: 1. The LIBNAME statement is used to point SAS towards a specific folder on your computer. 2. The INFILE statement "reads" data into SAS if it is of a certain format (usually comma, space, or tab delimited). 3. PROC IMPORT - imports data of any of several different file formats into SAS. 4. The SET statement imports data from a library into SAS at the DATA STEP. 5. The library name in a data step's data name "writes" data from SAS into your library folder using SAS's own file format system. Today's Code: data main; input x y z; cards; 1 2 3 7 8 9 ; run; proc contents data=main; run; proc print data=main; run; /* TEMPLATED CODE: .txt file type, with or without delimiters */ data [appropriate data set name here]; infile "[your file location here, including .txt extension]" LRECL=[a logical length of your data to emcompass ENTIRE data] DLM=','; input [variable names here] ; run; data infile_main; infile "C:\My SAS Files\main.txt"; input x y z; run; proc print data=infile_main; run; /* TEMPLATED CODE: Microsoft Excel (.xls) file type */ proc import out=[your data set name here] datafile='[your file location here, including .xls extension]' dbms=excel replace; *Optional statements are below; sheet='[specify sheet to obtain]'; getnames=[yes/no - first row = variable names]; mixed=[yes/no - refers to data types, if num AND char varibles, use yes]; usedate=[yes/no - read date formatted data as date formatted SAS data]; scantime=[yes/no - read in time formatted data as long as variable is not date format]; run; proc import out=imported_excel datafile='C:\My SAS Files\main.xls' dbms=excel replace; *Optional statements are below; sheet='Sheet1'; getnames=yes; run; proc print data=imported_excel; run; libname home "C:\My SAS Files\"; data sas_format; set home.main; run; data home.sas_format; set infile_main; run;

I Can't Get Vinyl to Stick to Canvas or Wood
Subscribe to Expressions Vinyl’s Channel Here – https://goo.gl/Y3jPi4 In this video Jessica discusses how to adhere vinyl to canvas, burlap and wood. Canvas, burlap and wood all have rough surfaces. A lot of times it works best to smooth out the surface by either painting your pieces or spraying them with a clear coating of some kind. Jessica goes through each example and the difference between the painted and unpainted sides of each project. She uses oracal 651 permanent adhesive vinyl for each example. The video demonstrates how much easier it is when canvas, burlap and wood are painted. If you don’t want to paint or put a clear coat on your project you can push down on the transfer tape while peeling it off and try to get it to work that way. Make sure your paint has cured for at least 24 hours before starting your project. Expressions Vinyl gives inspired crafters the tools and resources to bring their visions to life. Founded in 2008, and one of the original pioneers in the craft vinyl niche, Expressions Vinyl has created the benchmark and established its reputation for providing the best vinyl and customer service in the industry. Taxi driver oracle predicts the outcome of the 2010 Singapore F1 Grand Prix
This is real footage, of a real taxi driver, during a real trip to Singapore during the 2010 Formula 1 Grand Prix, and it was filmed two days prior to the race. I have had to blur out the face of the driver for his own protection. Several copies of the raw footage of this video have been distributed to key people, who will release them to the media should any harm come to the driver, or anyone else that was in the taxi. These witnesses in the taxi, can confirm and validate the time and place this footage was captured, and I even posted a note on my Facebook Page stating: "We met a Singaporean taxi driver who said the whole thing is rigged and sindicated, and that he already knows Alonso is going to win it, and that Hamilton is going to crash out. Get your bets on." This post appeared before the F1 Race had even begun. You can check this and confirm the date/time of posting by visiting www.facebook.com/fullysickrapper Global conspiracy? The top 300? Are sports results organised and syndicated for the purpose of fixed gambling across South East Asia, by a secret society from within Singapore?... Was this city built on a foundation of lies? Or is this man a true Oracle? Does he out-oracle the octopus? You be the judge.

Andhra Mango Pickle-(ఆంధ్రా మామిడికాయ పచ్చడి)/Andhra Avakaya Pachadi
Text Recipe ----http://www.foodvedam.com/andhra-mango-pickle/ తెలుగు వెర్షన్ ---- http://www.maatamanti.com/andhra-mango-pickle-recipe/ For making a perfect pickle you need to follow the instructions given below. 1.choose hard, unripe and sour mangoes for the pickle.ask the vendor to cut a randomly picked mango.if the flesh seems to be too yellow in color(that means they are about ripe), then do not buy them.it may taste sour but the pieces turn soft too soon after making the pickle. 2.pickle seems too tempting when it looks red.but the color depends on the type of red chili powder we use.For this pickle, I have used Everest Tikhalal red chili powder.it is spicier than the other powders and also very good in color.you can also use Three Mango Brand red chili powder.but if possible I would suggest you making the chili powder on your own. 3.make sure that the pickle must be covered by an oil layer.that means you need to pour the oil just above the level of the pickle.otherwise, it may lead to discoloration. 4.the pickle tastes little bitter for the first few days(like one week).so don't worry, the taste will change soon. 5.you can adjust the seasonings once after preparing the pickle.if you feel the pickle has no good flavor, you can add some peeled garlic cloves.it enhances the flavor. Andhra mango Pickle tastes good when served with very hot rice and ghee/clarified butter.It also tastes good when served with dal rice. (15:16) Track List created with http://www.vinjavideo.com. --- --- Introducing the ‘different’ Oracle | #oow15 by Heather Johnson | Oct 27, 2015 Compared to the Oracle of five years ago, we may not have a new Oracle, but we definitely have a different Oracle, says Ray Wang, principal analyst and CEO of Constellation Research, Inc., a Silicon Valley-based research firm. Wang sat down with John Furrier and Stu Miniman, cohosts of theCUBE, from the SiliconANGLE Media team, during Oracle OpenWorld 2015. Oracle finds cloud ‘religion’ Wang said that Oracle has now found cloud “religion,” but its later-than-expected adoption was partly based on customer response. “The original Oracle customer base wasn’t ready for the cloud five years ago,” said Wang. “Now Oracle has jumped in — and they’re all in.” In both public and private cloud, Oracle would join established providers such as Amazon, Hewlett-Packard and Microsoft. Wang sees changes in the secure cloud space. “There is definitely going to be cloud consolidation,” he stated. “Winner takes most is what’s going on here,” added Furrier. Wang said that cloud-vendor lock-in, moreso than cost, is the main challenge with the cloud. “We think that 60 percent of all mission-critical data is going to be outside your four walls,” he added. Today’s Oracle has progress on the horizon. “There are interesting things happening in middleware and the stack,” said Wang. “Its products team works really hard and is compressing innovation down the stack.” @theCUBE #oow15

API Design With Java 8 Lambda and Streams
During the nearly twenty years of evolution of Java, a set of API design idioms and styles have emerged, based on the existing language features and APIs. Certain language features, such as generics, have had great impact: twelve years after generics, APIs that use raw types look distinctly old-fashioned. Java 8 has introduced lambdas, perhaps the most significant new language feature in Java's history. Lambdas introduce new capabilities to the API designer: the ability to parameterize by behavior, and the ability to use higher-order functions. Java 8 has also introduced default methods, which allow implementations to appear on interfaces. Along with the language changes, Java 8 has also introduced significant new core APIs, including the Streams package, the Optional class, and new default method implementations on existing interfaces. These changes raise new design issues for API designers. These new language and core API features create opportunities for designers to make their APIs more concise and more expressive. In this talk we will examine a variety of techniques and idioms enabled by these new features, and show how API design has already begun to evolve in Java 8.
