It can be quite a challenge to find a manufacturer -- one you like working with and whose factory produces a quality product at a fair price. Here are some tips on how to navigate through the process of finding one, as well as how to optimize your relationship with your manufacturer so that you -- and your customers -- are happy. For more infor visit: http://www.focuspdm.com/ Step 1: Creating a Prototype Creating a working prototype or finding someone who can do it for you is the first step in the manufacturing process. During my early days, I was able to sew most of my prototypes. But as my product, Planecomfort, was refined and the components used and the skills necessary to create the product I envisioned moved beyond my sewing expertise, I knew I needed help. Searching online, I found a wonderful yet small cut-and-sew business in northern California called Left in Stitches. This relationship proved valuable to me in a number of ways. They not only helped refine my original prototype, but they offered many suggestions and ideas for making the product easier to manufacture. Many of these smaller domestic companies offer prototyping services that are invaluable to new entrepreneurs. Once you have a prototype, there is quality and design testing and tweaking. At each stage of development, and every time I received the newer version of my product, I washed, dried, pulled, stretched, zipped, unzipped, and put my product through the proverbial "ringer." Making sure your product will exceed your customers' expectations is a sure way to keep them coming back and referring your product to others. Ideally, you want to have a dozen or so finished prototypes. Manufacturers will want one or two samples sent to them as a reference to compare to the finished product their factory is making. I thought I would be able to use Left in Stitches for the long term, but due to logistical reasons and production costs, I had to find an overseas manufacturer. Moving your manufacturing operations overseas means you want large quantities (usually thousands) of the item you are producing. If you want hundreds of something, you may be better off working with a domestic manufacturer. Step 2: Finding a Manufacturer I located my overseas manufacturers through referrals, which provided me with an immediate level of comfort and confidence with these factories. One referral came from a fabric manufacturer. Most fabric manufacturers have relationships with product manufacturers. Another factory was referred to me by a marketing services company. This company manufactures both soft and hard goods and was happy to provide their contact with another business opportunity. Call domestic manufacturers and inquire about their overseas connections. Ask everyone you know if they know someone who manufactures the type of products you are creating. Search online for companies with products similar to yours and call them. Who do they use? How did they get started? My experience is that most people will want to help you. I found it was best to work with at least two different companies when trying to decide who will win your business. Who is easiest to work with? Who meets (or beats) your expectations? Is one more knowledgeable than the other? Having a comparison is essential to ensure you are getting a quality product at a fair price. There are two common ways you can deal with overseas manufacturing. You can find a broker or agent in the U.S. that represents the factory, or deal with a factory directly. Once you have determined who you might like to work with, you must check references on your contact and the factory. Some of the important questions to ask: Was the product made to specifications? What percentage of the shipment was defective? If there was a problem with the shipment, did the factory make restitution? Were deadlines met? If not, what did the factory offer to make amends? Is what was promised delivered? How is the quality of goods they produce? How long have you worked with this person and factory? How many orders have you placed? Is your contact easy to work with? Is he/she responsive to calls and emails? What type of projects does the factory excel in producing? Soft goods, hard goods? What types of companies do they normally work with? Who is responsible for landing the goods in the U.S.? Text by Ann Merlini, founder of Pac'n Nap, LLC. For more information on How to Design and Manufacture a Product visit: http://www.focuspdm.com/

Click Here To Subscribe : http://goo.gl/Wvp7qV How Apple Juice Made in Factory? - Apple juice production from Apple Video Credit : https://www.fruchtsaft.de/ (Fruchtsaftvideos) Apple Juice Production: Apple juice is processed and sold in many forms. Fresh apple juice or sweet cider is considered to be the product of sound ripe fruit that has been bottled or packaged with no form of preservation being used other than refrigeration. This type of fresh juice is normally sold in markets not too distant from the producer. Apple juice has been treated by some method to prevent spoilage. Shelf-stable or processed apple juice can be natural juice, clarified juice, crushed juice or frozen apple concentrate. (HUİ ansiklopedi) Natural juice comes from the press and generally only ascorbic acid is added to preserve color. It is then bottled and heat processed. Some forms of natural apple juice are produced with the use of heat pasteurization only. Apple juice production begins with fruit harvesting, transport and washing facilities. However, all fruit must be sound and free from gross damage or contamination. In particular, it should be free from mould or rot which can lead to tainted juices and microbiological instability. Product quality and stability will be influenced by the cleanliness of the ingredients and sanitation in the processing plant. Most fruits accumulate some dust in the field or during trasportation. They should be rinsed thoroughly by sprays of water before crushing.(Macrae and fri.) The fruit should be picked at the proper stage of maturity for the preparation of juice. The flavour, sugar content and pectin levels of the juice will vary with the maturity of the fruit. Ideally, fruit should have been picked when fully ripe, with dark brown seeds and no residual starch as detected by an iodine test. Fruit which is picked slightly under-ripe for the dessert market or for controlled atmosphere storage should therefore be allowed to mature for a few days at ambient temperature before pressing.(Hicks) A diagram depicting the processing steps for apple juice and juice concentrate is shown in figure ….. . Since apple juice concentrate is so widely available, it is relatively easy to set specifications for a juice in terms of its sugar and acid levels and to ensure consistency by blending different concentrates with water or fresh juice to required spesification. The blending and dilution of concentrates must be carried out before final filtration or the juice may become turbid on storage. The aroma essence, however, should be dosed into the juice line after the final mixing and filtration stages, to avoid losses by evaporation and adsorption by filter aids which have a high affinity for many of the small polar molecules which are responsible for volatile flavour. You have all this money from launch and you’re ready to place your initial order with your factory. How do you make sure that you’re maximizing that precious money you just raised? (00:42) Start off with a 30% deposit to your factory. (00:50) Be aware of bank and transfer fees. (01:05) There are restrictions when transferring money into China. (02:49) You’ve gotten samples and you know exactly what product specifications you want. What kind of documentation and communication do you need to prepare to make sure the factory knows EXACTLY what to make? (03:00) Before starting your order provide factory with design files. (03:08) For a customized OEM product you get samples from the factory. (03:23) Provide them with AI file for packaging and logo. (03:29) Put contracts and sales agreement in place. (03:42) From an ODM perspective... (03:47) You want to have all the technical files. (CAD, tech pack, etc.) (03:54) You have to have a perfect sample made prior to mass production. Manufacturing is the last step in your product development pathway, but it can certainly be the trickiest. Navigating the waters of ever-changing contracts, hidden costs and manufacturing surprises is never something a company, whether large or small, looks forward to. Focus Product Design has partners on site in China who work with us to deliver finished products at the highest quality possible. We spend extensive time working closely with them every aspect, from engineering to tooling and design. This allows us to offer our customers high-quality manufacturing service at better rates than our competitors. http://www.focuspdm.com/cta/manufacture-it Focus's Manufacturing Services: Design for Manufacturing While in business for over a decade, Focus has helped many clients create working prototypes through sound engineering and design. In order to clearly communicate your concept to the manufacturer, we adhere to what is called Design for Manufacturability. This practice focuses not only on the design of a new product, but also it's feasibility of production. Raw PCB Fabrication and Assembly Manufacturing of electronics. Injection Molding Focus Product Designs offers plastic injection molding from most plastic resins. We have experience with single material, double-shot, insert molding, high-cosmetic and high tolerance parts. Parts are built directly from your 3D CAD models and inspected per 2D drawings, so you can be sure your parts will be made correctly. Sheet Metal We offer sheet metal parts made from most common metals. Production sheet metal parts start off by cutting a blank to the overall shape. Then blanks are punched, embossed, notched, lanced and formed to print. Parts are built directly from your 3D CAD models and inspected per 2D drawings, so you can be sure your parts will be made correctly. Machining Focus Product Design offers machined parts made from most metals and plastics. Production machined parts are roughed out to size and machined to desired tolerances and surface finishes, then cosmetically refined. Custom plastic parts are built directly from your 3D CAD models and inspected per 2D drawings so you can be sure your parts will be made correctly. Metal Casting Focus Product Design offers aluminum die casting from most standard die casting materials. Die casting is a replacement for injection molding, resulting in stronger parts with good thermal or electrical properties, or to consolidate two or more metal parts into one. Extruding Focus Product Design offers extrusions from most standard metal, plastic, rubber and foam materials. Extrusions can be produced and cut to length, with additional features and finishes added. Quality extrusion dies are mass-produced, which results in a lower costs. Tooling Did you know that we need to build the tools, molds and machines that build your product? On top of that, no two products are alike, which means that each unique product requires a new set of manufacturing tools for production. Regulatory Certification Regulatory Certification is a process in which product sample applications are submitted to certification bodies for approval. Certification bodies analyze products according to categories such as medical, consumer, wireless and industrial products. http://www.focuspdm.com/cta/manufacture-it

This video explains the methods for producing natural, sun-dried raisins from the Thompson seedless grape variety in vineyards located in Bijapur district, Karnataka state, India. About 4 kilos of fresh grapes are required to make 1 kilo of raisins. The most widely grown raisin grape is the Thompson Seedless variety. They are used in the production of over half the world's raisins. Bijapur district of Karnataka state produces maximum quantity of raisins than any other area in India. It is because of its most suitable weather for grape cultivation and raisins production. Making of raisins involves several steps like harvesting at suitable time, processing, drying, grading and packing. Raisin production in India is based on the dipping of the berries in dip emulsion, which contains potassium carbonate and ethyl-oleate and drying in shade. Watch the video till the end to know how fresh grapes turns into raisins..! #BijapurGrapes #KarnatakaGrapes #ThompsonSeedless #MediaSpaceChannel

Water hyacinth, a fast-growing floating plant, has long been a headache for fishermen and locals near Lake Victoria in Western Kenya. But now, 31-year-old Evince Oloo is making efforts to use the problematic species for recycle production. Oloo mixes water hyacinth with waste paper to produce paper products and liquid soap. The procedure is simple but a finicky job. First, he chops the fibers into smaller pieces and then mashed into a thick pulp. The pulp is later mixed with waste paper, which have been soaked for two to three days and mashed. The mixture is then poured into a big metallic trough filled with water after which it is sieved to form soft wet paper on top of a plastic or woody sieve. The wet paper takes 30-40 minutes to dry, then the refined product is cut into different sizes. Oloo makes folders, gift bags, A4-size papers for printing, photo frames and other woven products, which he exhibits at the local markets.
