Whether we talk about goods or services, we can say, usually, people are not just buying a product that solves one of their basic needs. They acquire the benefits and satisfaction they believe they’ll obtain from the product. They are interested in symbols and ideas that help them relate the product to a desired lifestyle and positive expectations about the future. Customers do not simply buy products because they satisfy their needs. Instead, they are interested in becoming clients of firms that offer them a complete product concept – an idea or a promise, if you will. The best products make people happier and create a positive expectation before being consumed.

Product Marketing for New Products

27:12
You might have the greatest product on earth, but if your potential customers don’t know they need it, they won’t know they have to buy it — let alone buy it from you. This may seem obvious, but it’s actually an important concept to pause and focus on, because it affects everything from understanding who your buyer really is and who the competition are to how you set the buying criteria and frame the problem your product solves for customers. In this deck, first presented at one of our company building events in early 2017, a16z partner Sharon Chang -- who managed product marketing at Opsware; directed product marketing at HP Software as well as other companies; and headed marketing at Rockmelt -- covers the fundamentals of product marketing for new products. And the fundamentals behind the fundamentals are all about your story, capturing it and scaling it so it’s just as compelling when your first sales rep conveys it as when you first heard it from the founder.

Well, it takes a lot of time and significant energy to build and optimize a distribution channel. And we have to consider several factors that will influence our decision. The best distribution channel is the one that: Delivers a product that customers want. Delivers a product where customers want it. And allows customers to have the product at the right time. A product must be positioned where its target customers are likely to find it. A great-looking store, with prepared sales personnel, and optimal product placing can have a huge impact on sales. Great distribution channels deliver products at the right time. Nobody likes it when an item is out of stock or when there is a long waiting period for its delivery. Companies want to be efficient with the inventory they keep as it represents a cost. An optimized logistics flow can be beneficial for both customers and producers.

Pricing Strategies For Marketing Your Product Or Service

FREE COURSE To Start Your Online Business: http://projectlifemastery.com/free-course In this video, Stefan shares with you some pricing strategies for marketing your product or service. People often ask Stefan how much they should charge for a service that they are offering. His answer to that question is always, “What are people willing to pay? What is the demand for your product or service”? The demand is based on a lot of different factors, but primarily it is determined by the perceived value of your product or service. Renowned business trainer, Kate Zabriskie once said, "Your customers' perceptions are your reality". What Is Product Marketing?

01:25
What Is Product Marketing? Author: Driftt Download: http://adf.ly/1eSOou A look at the roles and responsibilities of product marketing and a clear definition of where product marketing fits inside of an organization. Get the only weekly email focused on marketing to customers. What Is Product Marketing? 2. You’ve heard about it. You know a Product Marketer. 3. It’s kind of hard to explain what product marketing is. Pro Tip: Try this search whenever you want to feel confused. 4. That’s probably because product marketing is one of the few job functions that touches product, marketing and sales. 5. Or maybe because this is the top definition... 6. Here’s what product marketing is and what product marketers do. 7. PS. Get the only weekly email that’s focused on marketing to customers right here. 8. Let’s start with the typical marketing funnel. 11. Product Marketers are doing things like writing positioning and messaging for products and new features. 12. And thinking about how to drive demand and usage of those products and features. 13. But they’re also thinking about the competitive landscape and the market. 14. And how to help the sales team sell more and close more deals. 15. Product Marketers are focused more on marketing to customers than prospects and leads. 16. Or, in the words of some people who are passionate about 17. VP Marketing, HubSpot Product Marketing sits right at the intersection of the product team. Our job is to bring products to market. That includes everything from setting the positioning and messaging, to running product launches, to making sure the sales team understands how to talk about the product and making sure customers understand how to use it. 18. Co-Founder of Crazy Egg and KISSMetrics Product Marketing is the art and science of conveying to people what your product can do for them with the goal of engaging, converting and retaining. 19. Co-Founder, NextView Ventures Former Product Marketer at EBay Product Marketing is about understanding what people want so that you can so you can make your product great. 20. Director of Growth, I Will Teach You To Be Rich, Former Director of Growth, KISSMetrics Product Marketing is the art of creating desire for your product and understanding your customers so deeply that you can answer two critical questions for them: Why your product and why now? 21. Chief Revenue Officer, Constant Contact Product Marketing is responsible for developing the unique value proposition of a company’s offer(s) and then helps bring that value prop to life by enabling all of the company’s channels. The cornerstone of developing the value prop revolves around understanding a company’s potential buyers and the unique needs addressed by the company’s offerings. 22. And even though everyone’s definition is a little different, one thing is crystal clear. Make sure to subscribe to my channel if you liked the video! Marketing Minute 076: “What Is Product Cannibalization in Marketing?” (Marketing Strategy)

01:29
Product cannibalization can destroy your profits, but it can also save your company. Which one it does depends on how you manage it. In simple terms, product cannibalization occurs when a company launches a new product that steals volume, sales revenue, and/or market share from one or more of their existing products. This sounds like bad business, especially if the new product being offered has a lower contribution margin than the existing products. But there are two reasons why launching a cannibalizing product can actually be a good marketing strategy. The first is customer retention. When your company offers a new, enhanced product, it provides customers with more value and keeps them buying your brand, rather than switching to your competitors’ brands as they improve their products and attempt to capture your market share. The second reason is new customer acquisition. A new product developed for a new target market may cannibalize current customers from a seemingly distinct market. Even at a lower margin, if enough new customers buy your brand, the losses from cannibalization are overcome by the gains in building a larger customer base. Fears of product cannibalization make marketing managers hesitant to launch, but these managers need to remember: when it comes to product cannibalization, it’s better to cannibalize sales from yourself than to let other companies steal those sales them from you. **Be sure to subscribe to my channel so you don't miss any future episodes of Monday's Marketing Minute, where you’ll learn about: - Marketing Strategy and Tactics - Brand Development - Personal Branding and Professional Branding - Marketing Yourself - Marketing Leadership - and whatever relevant and related topics come our way. **Also, connect with me on any of the following: LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/anthonymiyazaki Twitter: https://twitter.com/sensiblefolk Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/sensiblefolk/ YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/AnthonyMiyazaki

Marketing Strategy - Product Life Cycle

08:55
Marketing Strategy - Product Life Cycle - The product life cycle is an important concept in marketing. It describes the stages a product goes through from when it was first thought of until it finally is removed from the market. Not all products reach this final stage. Some continue to grow and others rise and fall.

How to Launch a Product | (Neil Patel's Insider Marketing Secrets)

07:56
How do you plan a successful product launch and grow your online business? ►►Subscribe here to learn more of my secret SEO tips: https://goo.gl/ScRTwc Find me on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/neilkpatel/ Read more on my blog: https://neilpatel.com/blog Today is another episode of Q&A Thursdays. We're here to answer your questions. If you have one, leave a comment below, and we may answer it in next week's episode. So Adam, what's this week's question? This one is from Dipak. It says, hey Neil, thanks for making this awesome video. Would you like to make one video about product launches? Like pros and cons during the launch process? The first thing you need to know when you're doing a product launch is that you need to have a platform that allows you not only to sell the product but to deliver the product. A simple way to sell the product is using click funnels. A simple way to deliver the product is using Kajabi. Kajabi allows you to deliver a course to people once they buy. Click Funnels allows you to optimize the funnels so you can get more purchases and sales. Technically, Kajabi can do all of that. But I prefer Click Funnels on the front end, and I love using Kajabi on the back end to deliver the course, drip people the content over time. Now that you got the software solutions, what you want to do is create a web page with the offering for your product launch. Use Click Funnels to create a video talking about your product, the price points, what they're going to get for it, and you can just create a script. Create a little quick intro video on Click Funnels. You can do this on your iPhone. You say in this intro video, hey everyone, wanna learn how to grow your YouTube channel? Register for this webinar. I'm going to show you 11 secrets on how to grow your YouTube channel. Once they register, you have a PowerPoint presentation. The PowerPoint presentation is going to be around 45 minutes to an hour. The first 30 minutes you're going to educate them on all these cool crazy YouTube tactics. Don't charge for it. Just give away all the information for free. After you do that, you said, hey, now that you've learned everything, do you want to hear a simpler way to grow your YouTube channel? I showed you all the ways that you can do it on your own, but would you like to learn some of the hacks that I use that speed up the process so that way you don't have to take seven, eight months to get results and you could get results in three months? Usually, people say yes. Then you hook them with a special offer. Normally, if I did one on one YouTube consulting and you went to people in person, you're going to charge five figures. You would end by saying, but, if you want to do this, I have a special offer for you, you can get it now for whatever price. Once you have people are saying yes, yes, yes. Then what you want to do is send them to a page where they can check out. You can do this all on Click Funnels. You can also do this live. You host a live webinar once a month, or you can make an evergreen webinar. If you want to make an evergreen webinar, webinar jam has software called everwebinar. Once you've completed those steps, you can drive traffic to your product launch using YouTube ads or Facebook ads. Facebook ads tend to convert better than YouTube ads. The other strategy for a product launch is to go to all the popular bloggers in your space, contact them and offer to give them 30, 40, 50% of every single sale you drive. Do a joint webinar with them. They'll push your product, and you can generate sales. ConvertKit does a wonderful job of this. Their revenue figures are public. They're doing over ten million a year in revenue. Most of their revenue is driven by affiliates and launches. Another product launch tip is to contact all of the people who clicked on your check out page but didn't buy. You re-market to them with the YouTube and Facebook video that breaks in with what they would get if they purchase. Send them back to the check out page. You'll notice it will be your highest converting ad campaign. That's what we did. It has worked amazingly well. It still works. If you have questions about how to create a product launch, leave a comment below. We'll help you with your product launches. I'll be there, I'll respond to every single one. As always, if you have a question that you'd like to have answered in a Q&A Thursday video, leave a question below in the comments. I look forward to seeing you guys next week.

Marketing is involved in everything from the market research that goes into determining what products consumers are looking for, to the message that is transmitted to consumers to inform them about a product and even persuade them to purchase it. In between those stages, marketing also plays a prominent role in determining how the product should look, designing the packaging that will enclose the product, deciding whether to sell the product through traditional retailers or entirely online, and establishing a price point that is not only attractive to consumers but allows gives the business the opportunity to be profitable. Now when most people think of marketing they often think of advertising, which is completely understandable given we are are constantly exposed to advertisements at home, at the office, and even during our commutes. Although advertising is a component of marketing it certainly does not explain the entire subject. In fact, advertising is simply one of the four different types of promotion, and promotion is one of the four main elements of marketing. So you can see that advertising, like the other marketing elements, merely plays a role in helping businesses create, communicate, and deliver a single unified message to potential customers. So how does a businesses create, communicate, and deliver value to its customers? Although there are many variables at work, a business can increase the probability of success by creating an effective and consistent marketing mix. Often referred to as the 4 P's, the market mix is a collection of four elements that outline the strategy for how a business intends to reach its customers. These four elements include product, place, promotion, and price. The product includes the tangible product or intangible service that will be used to fulfill a customer need or want. The features of a product, its physical form, packaging, warranties, and even after-sale service are all included under the product strategy. Place includes how a business intends to get products from the location they are produced to where they can ultimately be consumed by consumers. Place is often referred to as distribution since we are dealing with logistics. However, place not only includes the physical distribution of the product but also the channel through which it will be sold. Promotion involves establishing the most effective method for communicating with its customers about the various products that it sells. Promotion is primarily meant to communicate, inform, and persuade. An effective promotion strategy, like the other marketing mix elements, depends upon a businesses knowledge of its target customer. This knowledge allows a business to select the best way to communicate with its core audience and ultimately increase the success of its communications. The last element of the market mix is price. Price is the easiest marketing mix element to alter from a technical sense, however it is the most difficult thing to change. The reason is that altering the price of a product affects what consumers pay for that product, and a business can only charge as much as the market is willing to pay for a product. Technically a business can charge whatever price it wants, but that does not mean that consumers have to pay that price. Like the other marketing mix elements, price can send a message to consumers. For example, many believe that maintaining low prices is the best method to attract consumers. Although this can be an effective pricing strategy for certain items, it can also confuse consumers. For example, Tiffany & Co. sells expensive jewelry and is known for high quality and is one of the most recognizable brands. Because Tiffany & Co is known for quality and maybe even exclusivity, it wouldn't benefit from a low price point. Dealing with the psychological aspect of pricing, consumers tend to view less expensive items as cheap in quality compared to their more expensive counterparts. Although this doesn't always hold to be true, businesses are very aware of the impact that price can have on the perceptions of consumers.

How to Launch Your First Amazon FBA Product: 6 Hacks to a Home-Run Success (w/ Daniel Audunsson)

14:56
How to launch your first Amazon FBA product + 6 hacks to make it a home-run success. ►► How to Make $10,000/Month Online: http://wholesaleted.com/4-step There are 2 secrets that you need to know to launch your first Amazon FBA product and make it a home-run success even if it’s your first product. And these 2 secrets are… 1) Sales Velocity 2) Conversions These are the 2 key factors the Amazon algorithm uses when choosing which products will sit at the top of their search results (the search engine accounts for 90% of sales on Amazon). Here is what you need to do to launch your first Amazon FBA product and make it a home-run success (even if it’s your first product): You need to match (or ideally improve on) the sales velocity & conversions of your top competitor for 2 weeks. If you do this… then your item will soar to the top of the search results - and YOU’LL start making all of the organic sales for your product! Hack #1 to launch your first Amazon FBA private label product & make initial sales: Use product giveaways Product giveaways for your Amazon FBA private label product are one of the most powerful strategies at your disposal for massively increasing your sales velocity & conversions. You can’t give products away for free but you can give people a heavily discounted coupon that lets them buy it for just 99 cents, which means you are basically giving it away for free. And this is simple: Sign up for a service like JumpSend or ZonBlast. These services have a huge membership base of people that are keen to purchase heavily discounted items on Amazon. They will then distribute your coupon to it’s members. Not only will this drastically increase your sales, but the conversions will be high: You can expect around 50%. Hack #2 to launch your first Amazon FBA private label product & make initial sales: Lower the price If your item starts getting sales (product giveaways are of course a great way to do this) and traction, you can then attract more sales from simply lowering the price below your competition for a week or two. If your product is already ranked in the top few results and you want to climb to the top, this strategy alone can be enough. Hack #3 to launch your first Amazon FBA private label product & make initial sales: Use SuperURLs When someone clicks on your product listing after finding it using the Amazon search engine, they enter using a SuperURL: It’s a URL containing tracking information that tells the Amazon algorithm that they arrived at your listing through finding it using the search engine. You can give people this URL instead of your usual product URL to trick the algorithm into thinking that people found (and bought your item) through finding it using the search engine. Be aware though, this is a controversial method. Experts like Daniel recommend only pushing through a maximum of 20% of your sales this way. Hack #4 to launch your first Amazon FBA private label product & make initial sales: Use paid advertising You can place paid ads in the Amazon search engine for your item, targeting specific keywords. When someone buys a product through clicking on it, not only will this increase your sales velocity - but it’ll help your product rank organically for that keyword as well. Hack #5 to launch your first Amazon FBA private label product & make initial sales: Increase the conversions on your listing & get reviews It’s not enough to get the initial sales & conversions from drastically lowering your price: You need to have a high-converting listing so that when you reach the top of the search results you’ll keep making more sales than your competitor, otherwise the Amazon algorithm will drop you in the results. Here are some tips for increasing your conversions on your listing: * Have the maximum number of HD photos that are big enough the customer can zoom in on them. * Have a keyword rich product title. * Have multiple bullet points with excellent copy. * Have a descriptive product description that has photos included in it. Be sure to email and follow up with your customers, asking them to leave an honest review. If you do this, you can increase the rate of people leaving a review to as high as 10-15% (compared to less than 5%). Hack #6 to launch your first Amazon FBA private label product & make initial sales: Use Amazon Marketing Services Amazon Market Services (AMS) is an advertising platform that you need to be specially approved for. When you are approved it lets you advertise on lots of pages on Amazon, such as your competitor’s pages. Because it requires pre-approval, most of your competition won’t be using it. So you can use this to place ads in larger amounts than 99% of your competitors and outsell them.

Product Design Marketing

Marketing and product design are the same thing. The problem of knowing what product to build is something that both product designers and marketers need to understand intimately in order to do their jobs…the designers in order to design the product and the marketer in order to share the story. Both designers and marketers then need to continue to focus on that problem so they know how to proceed. http://www.focuspdm.com/
