Sea Kayak Around Ireland - Full Documentary

46:00
Winner of Best Sea Kayaking Film - Reel Paddling Film Festival 2017 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Sea Kayak Around Ireland is 45 minute documentary the tells the story of 2 Irish Sea Kayakers who take on their dream journey of circumnavigating their country. 2015 will go down, for myself (Jon Hynes) and my paddling partner, Sean Cahill as being one of our most memorable years. We both have enjoyed a lifetime of adventures from a very young age. This has been one of our most satisfying adventures yet. We really hope you enjoy our documentary “Sea Kayak Around Ireland”. It’s been a dream of our to paddle around our own country for many years. In fact we were inspired by many of our kayaking friends who have taken on the journey in the past. Over the year both Sean and I have kayaked all over the world, we’ve had great victories over nature and the elements both on the sea and on the river. Sometimes we fared less well against those elements, however we always maintained a grounded sense and a willingness to learn. With these experiences behind us we embarked upon our dream trip around Ireland in June & July 2015. Not only did the weather and elements test us but our trip was a celebration of life, fitness, adventure and most of all, Irish people. Every day we met people, who were so kind to us, we are forever grateful to each and everyone of you. Hopefully this film in some small way reflects how much that kindness means to us. Ireland truly is, one of the world’s most special places to come and sea kayak. Both Sean and I would to thank the following people and companies. Cian Walsh of Marine User Experience (http://www.mux.ie) for all his hard work, dedication and unending energy to help us bring our story to life in this documentary. We really appreciate every ounce of energy you gave. Much respect. Thanks to Nick Bendon of www.chmarine.com , he came on board our trip plans from a very early stage and supported us with product and publicity. Yak Kayaking equipment kindly supplied us with some really fantastic kit. The Greenburg Buoyancy Aid and Glacier Jacket felt like battle armour when we faced the most challenging of Atlantic sea condtions. http://www.crewsaver.com/yak Craghoppers clothing and Gavin Fox were also very kind to us taking care of all our shore based clothing. Thank you. http://www.craghoppers.com Gavan Murphy of www.globalstar.com kindly supplied us with a Spot Tracker Gen 3 device that was superb in allowing people to monitor and track our progress. Thank you. Thanks to the following. Declan Counihan of West Midland Optical & Julbo eyewear. Reed Chillcheater http://www.chillcheater.com Graham Stanley http://www.stanleystickers.com The Speckled Door pub & restaurant Old Head of Kinsale. Oisin McGrath who filmed us with his drone in Co. Clare, a special thanks! http://iflytechnology.com Big shout out to Pearse and Jason of http://www.bigsurfshop.com , THE best online surf shop in Ireland! Music Annette Buckley Beneath the Big Blue Sea, thank you so much for this beautiful track. Can't wait to take you sea kayaking in Summer 2016. Moby SSDX The Hynes Family, thanks for all your belief in me over the years. A special thanks to my Father, Tony Hynes and my Mother, Hillary Good who gave me the opportunities as a young boy to go kayaking and brought me to the most special place every summer, Roaring Water bay, West Cork. Those childhood experiences have forged a lifetime love of being out on the water. A special thanks to the Cahill family for all their support of Sean and his journey around Ireland. A special thanks to all the volunteers and staff at Coast & Cliff Rescue stations and RNLI stations all around Ireland who let us camp, shower, refresh along the way. Keep up the great work at sea. We’d also like to acknowledge and thank the lads who work 24:7 at the Marine Radio Centre’s at Valentia Island, Malin Head and Dublin. Thanks for watching over us and the weather updates every day. We really do appreciate your great work. A final note, to our wives, your belief in us and un-ending support means so much. Without you, we could not have done this! Thank you. Sea Kayaking Around Ireland is something that can be enjoyed by everyone. Check out http://www.seakayakaroundireland.com for details of all the people who have taken on the challenge. 10 Things NOT To Do in Ireland

04:15
Get more Tips here! www.destinationtips.com Today we're going to talk about Ireland and what not to do there! 1. Don't Say “Top of the Morning” No one uses it and it's corny and you'll stand out like a tourist! 2. Don't Use A Phony Irish Accent The locals hate it! 3. Don't Talk About Leprechauns The Irish find this tiresome and boring, yet another thing that would make anyone stand out like a tourist. 4. Don't Brag That You’re 100% Irish Even if both sides of your family hail from Ireland, if you’re traveling from the US, you’d be considered Irish-American. 5. Don't Just Visit Dublin You'll miss all the lush green countryside! You’ll definitely want to explore rural areas, other cities and landmarks such as Galway, Belfast, Killarney National Park, Doolin and the Cliffs of Moher. 6. Don't Order Corned Beef and Cabbage This is not the national dish of Ireland. It was a creation made up by Americans and is something they eat on St. Patrick’s Day. In Ireland this meal doesn't really exist, if you do find it on a menu, you can be sure its a restaurant that caters to tourists. 7. Don’t Skip Your Round In Irish pubs it’s a common practice to order drinks in rounds. For example, if you’re with a group of four people, everyone in the group takes turns buying a round of drinks. 8. Don't Compare Ireland to Home Not only is this kind of rude, but locals find it very annoying to constantly hear how things like service, food, culture, people, etc. compare to your home country. But there are lots of differences, like the way everyone waves to you in the car. I don't know you, why are you waving? 9. Don't Avoid the Finger Twitch While driving on country roads, it's common practice to raise your hand or finger from the steering wheel when you pass someone. It’s a polite way of saying hello to oncoming drivers, even if the respective drivers do not know each other. Know Before You Go!

Scenic Wicklow Mountains/Historic Glendalough Monastery-Day Trip from Dublin, Ireland

We took a great day trip from Dublin to the beautiful Wicklow Mountains and the historic Glendalough Monastery with our singing tour guide. The scenic Wicklow mountains include a lot of bogs and streams-the Guinness family estate is here and the movie "Braveheart" was filmed in this area. The Glendalough monastery is several hundred years old and you can still see many of the old buildings, including the Round Tower, The Cathedral, the Priest's house, St. Kevin's Church, and the old cemetery. There is also a beautiful lake and green hills nearby.

Motorcycle Trip to Ireland & Scotland - Another great day in Western France - Part 5

27:28
Nice route, beautiful Basilica and Sunset on the West Coast. Important: This is not super adventure or high quality travel video with incredible footage or some action scenes. This is real story, real trip. The idea behind is to see how one motorcycle trip is going and to show you some interesting places around the world. I also shared some of my thoughts and advice with the idea to help others to make their trips more easier than me. The trip was 15 days and visited the territories of Germany, Switzerland, Italy, France, Ireland, Scotland, England and came back to Germany. I spent a little above 7,000km and except one small accident the trip went trouble free. I saw so many amazing places and met so many great and friendly people. It was one super nice trip and I will do it again with pleasure. Detailed maps from the trip you can find here: http://rtw-adventures.com/motorcycle-trip-to-ireland-scotland-1.html Many of you asked me: what gear I use and where they can find it? I have created this Amazon shop to make it easy for you. Note: The links I am going to provide are Affiliate. An affiliate link means, that I will earn a small commission, if you decide to buy something and it doesn’t cost you any extra. My Trip to Belfast, Northern Ireland

04:54
A video I made of the different sights and areas I checked out during my trip to Belfast in January 2017. Belfast is quite small and it really only needs one or two days to explore, including a few hours at the Titanic Museum if that's something you're interested in seeing. To check out Belfast I basically walked around the city centre until I made my way to the waterfront. Then I walked along the pier for a while and then turned around where I made my way all the way to the old Peace Wall/Peace Lines in a different part of the city. Is Belfast worth visiting? Definitely, but you really don't need much time at all to explore some of the best that the city has to offer. Keep up with me online! Ireland and Northern Ireland Trip of Aug 2013

12:10
This is a video from my trip over to Ireland then up and around Northern Ireland in August 2013. First drop and collection in Limavady, Co Londonderry, then a 2 night job in Ballymoney, Co Antrim, then a final drop and collection in Dungannon, Co Tyrone. Then a quick run back down to Dublin to get the ferry, have my night off while waiting for and on the ferry and quick 4 and half hour run home :-) This was a particularly enjoyable trip for me because my family come from this neck of the woods and I haven't been back since I was a child. Got to spend a day and 2 nights with some family friends' that I haven't seen in over a decade, so a good trip all round, plus you get to enjoy the beautiful Northern Ireland and Rep. of Ireland landscape, not a bad job when you get jobs like this :-) Video recorded on a Samsung Galaxy S using a car mount, mounted to the top of the dashboard and edited with CyberLink PowerDirector. AMAZING Irish Castles

07:05
Today we’re focusing on Ireland, the island of lush, rolling green hills, fiery redheads and turbulent times. It's absolutely full of castles so we decided what better way to learn a little bit more about the interesting country than through some of it's coolest, oldest structures. Subscribe to Knowledge Feed for awesome mysteries, discoveries, fun topics and all around AWESOME videos ! 5. Doonagore This castle was built overlooking the Atlantic Ocean in the village of Doolin in County Clare. The O’Brien dynastyowned it for a time until it was handed over the the British Crown before it fell to the Clancy family. When a ship of the Spanish Armada wrecked on the near the village, the High Sheriff of the county, Boetius Clancy had all 170 survivors captured and hanged at the castle. 4. Bunratty King Henry the third of England first had control of Bunratty before giving it to the de Clare’s a family of Norman Lords. When several members of the De Clare’s were killed the old castle fell into disrepair and eventually crumbled, no traces of it remain today. The current structure was built by the MacNamara family, another prominent group in the area in the 1400’s. The powerful O’Brien clan attacked the Castle several times throughout it's history and would eventually take over for a time around the year 1500. 3. Dough Castle The O’Connor’s, a prominent Aristocratic Catholic Family in Ireland, built Dough Castle in the early 1300’s in County Clare. Nothing remains of this original structure and, thanks to the fact the the land it rests on is sand the castle collapsed and was rebuilt several times. Today only ruins of the once grand castle remain. 2. Newtown This Castle was built in 1550 for the powerful and ever present O’Brien clan. Eventually it was passed into the possession of one of the area’s most powerful clans, the O’Lochlainn family. It’s one of the few round tower houses in all of Ireland. It was restored in the early 1990’s for use by the Burren College of Art. Today it's available as a venue for weddings and conferences and is open to the public on weekdays. Don’t all of these sweet castles make you want to take a trip to Ireland? Anyways thanks so much for watching our video, we hope you enjoyed it and if you did, don’t forget to subscribe to our channel and we’ll see you next time. Oh ya and don’t forget you still have one more castle to go. 1. Trim Castle Plenty of people have been impressed by this, the largest Norman castle in the country over the years. Mel Gibson was so in awe, that he used it in the filming of Braveheart. The castle, which is located in County Meath was used as a center of Norman administration by King Henry the second of England in the 12th Century. In 1172 Hugh de Lacy an Anglo-Norman landowner and office holder took possession of it and turned it into the 30,000 square meter masterpiece that has endured to this day. It’s open to the public for an admittance fee.

Motorcycle Tour of Ireland (Fat Lad on a Bike) Day 2 of 6 to Tipperary, Carrick on Suir and Kilkenny

14:36
Day Two of the Ireland Tour where you see us travelling a 241 mile round trip passing through Tipperary then Carrick on Suir onto Kilkenny and back to basecamp the Bed & Breakfast Arch House in Athlone (Highly Recommended by the way). Athlone being a great place to stay as its about centre of Ireland and a great starting point to go about anywhere you want. Still having problems with the Drift helmet cameras but managed some riding footage but without commentary which i think makes it. Motorcycle Trip to Ireland & Scotland - Durness, Dunnet Head and Dornoch - Part 23

16:35
The North is great. Durness, Dunnet Head and Dornoch. I don’t feel as if you owe me anything, but if you are going to buy the product anyway, then why not? Road Trip Across Ireland To Collect Miniature Donkeys (!)

04:47
We know quite a bit about horses but we don’t pretend to know much about donkeys. What wonderful looking animals they are, though! The ordinary sized ones are common enough around here – though they tend to be sad-looking and neglected. Dragged out once a year for the local show, and left to keep company with goats or cows for the rest of the time. These ones are the same species as standard donkeys but they are recognised as a separate breed as long as they are under one metre tall at the withers. Apparently they were first bred in Italy to work down the mines. Donkeys are obviously extremely intelligent animals, calm and non-complaining. But will they work as therapy animals? We just don’t know, but we thought (well Sandra thought) that it was worth the risk. Yes, we bought these unseen – but we had arranged a vet to inspect them at their home, so we knew they were healthy at least. They have been wormed and treated for lice already today. If you happen to live nearby and you’re interested in learning more about the therapeutic riding for someone you know, or if you’d like to help out, maybe, in the sessions, do get in touch.
