10 Things NOT To Do in Ireland

04:15
Get more Tips here! www.destinationtips.com Today we're going to talk about Ireland and what not to do there! 1. Don't Say “Top of the Morning” No one uses it and it's corny and you'll stand out like a tourist! 2. Don't Use A Phony Irish Accent The locals hate it! 3. Don't Talk About Leprechauns The Irish find this tiresome and boring, yet another thing that would make anyone stand out like a tourist. 4. Don't Brag That You’re 100% Irish Even if both sides of your family hail from Ireland, if you’re traveling from the US, you’d be considered Irish-American. 5. Don't Just Visit Dublin You'll miss all the lush green countryside! You’ll definitely want to explore rural areas, other cities and landmarks such as Galway, Belfast, Killarney National Park, Doolin and the Cliffs of Moher. 6. Don't Order Corned Beef and Cabbage This is not the national dish of Ireland. It was a creation made up by Americans and is something they eat on St. Patrick’s Day. In Ireland this meal doesn't really exist, if you do find it on a menu, you can be sure its a restaurant that caters to tourists. 7. Don’t Skip Your Round In Irish pubs it’s a common practice to order drinks in rounds. For example, if you’re with a group of four people, everyone in the group takes turns buying a round of drinks. 8. Don't Compare Ireland to Home Not only is this kind of rude, but locals find it very annoying to constantly hear how things like service, food, culture, people, etc. compare to your home country. But there are lots of differences, like the way everyone waves to you in the car. I don't know you, why are you waving? 9. Don't Avoid the Finger Twitch While driving on country roads, it's common practice to raise your hand or finger from the steering wheel when you pass someone. It’s a polite way of saying hello to oncoming drivers, even if the respective drivers do not know each other. Know Before You Go!

Scenic Wicklow Mountains/Historic Glendalough Monastery-Day Trip from Dublin, Ireland

10:41
We took a great day trip from Dublin to the beautiful Wicklow Mountains and the historic Glendalough Monastery with our singing tour guide. The scenic Wicklow mountains include a lot of bogs and streams-the Guinness family estate is here and the movie "Braveheart" was filmed in this area. The Glendalough monastery is several hundred years old and you can still see many of the old buildings, including the Round Tower, The Cathedral, the Priest's house, St. Kevin's Church, and the old cemetery. There is also a beautiful lake and green hills nearby.

Motorcycle Trip to Ireland & Scotland - Perfect riding day around Dublin - Part 9

20:11
I never expect so much fun around Dublin Important: This is not super adventure or high quality travel video with incredible footage or some action scenes. This is real story, real trip. The idea behind is to see how one motorcycle trip is going and to show you some interesting places around the world. I also shared some of my thoughts and advice with the idea to help others to make their trips more easier than me. The trip was 15 days and visited the territories of Germany, Switzerland, Italy, France, Ireland, Scotland, England and came back to Germany. I spent a little above 7,000km and except one small accident the trip went trouble free. I saw so many amazing places and met so many great and friendly people. It was one super nice trip and I will do it again with pleasure. Detailed maps from the trip you can find here: http://rtw-adventures.com/motorcycle-trip-to-ireland-scotland-1.html Many of you asked me: what gear I use and where they can find it? I have created this Amazon shop to make it easy for you. Note: The links I am going to provide are Affiliate. An affiliate link means, that I will earn a small commission, if you decide to buy something and it doesn’t cost you any extra. I don’t feel as if you owe me anything, but if you are going to buy the product anyway, then why not? Ireland (Europe) Vacation Travel Video Guide

51:36
✱ 6.742 Hotels in Ireland - Lowest Price Guarantee ► https://booki.ng/2GHby8h Travel video about destination Ireland. Ireland is one of Europe’s most green and mysterious islands and everyone who visits this isolated island in the Atlantic Ocean is given a very warm welcome. Dublin is the capital of the Irish Republic and it is a city of musicians, poets and dreamers, as well as being a financial centre. Its many old buildings indicate its long and dramatic past. It was founded by the Vikings within a wonderful valley where the River Liffey flows into the Atlantic Ocean. After the Vikings, the Normans conquered the city and ruled over it for seven hundred years and under King Henry The Eighth Dublin became the capital of what was then a British colony. South west of Dublin is Kildare, the heart of Ireland’s horse racing. In 1902 the Irish national stud, Tully House, was founded there. Rich and eccentric Scottish brewery heir, Colonel William Hall-Walker, had the idea of a creating unique horse breeding scheme that would be based upon astrological calculation. The Wicklow Mountains are a natural paradise of mountains, swamps and lakes, beautiful valleys and a fascinating mountain landscape to the south of Dublin. Jerpoint Abbey near Thomastown dates back to the twelfth century and is one of the most beautiful Cistercian ruins in Ireland. It was founded in around 1160 by Donal Mac Gillapatrick, the King Of Ossory. The Cistercians built the monastery in characteristic style and one of the stone sarcophaguses is said to contain the bones of Holy Nicolas who was buried there by the Crusaders. Although much of it has remained unspoiled, Ireland has undergone much change. It is a land of great natural beauty, healthy commercial success and excellent hospitality: a wild green island set in the wild Atlantic Ocean! -------------- Watch more travel videos ► https://goo.gl/MXPgSs Join us. Motorcycle Trip to Ireland & Scotland - Still in West and Applecross Pass - Part 20

12:47
Great riding day and Applecross Pass Important: This is not super adventure or high quality travel video with incredible footage or some action scenes. My Trip to Belfast, Northern Ireland

04:54
A video I made of the different sights and areas I checked out during my trip to Belfast in January 2017. Belfast is quite small and it really only needs one or two days to explore, including a few hours at the Titanic Museum if that's something you're interested in seeing. To check out Belfast I basically walked around the city centre until I made my way to the waterfront. Then I walked along the pier for a while and then turned around where I made my way all the way to the old Peace Wall/Peace Lines in a different part of the city. Is Belfast worth visiting? Definitely, but you really don't need much time at all to explore some of the best that the city has to offer. Keep up with me online! In this video I take one of Europe’s forgotten trains - the Enterprise. This is the service connecting the two Irish capitals, Dublin in the Republic with Belfast in Northern Ireland. The journey takes around 2 hours and 15 minutes on the fastest weekday services. This is an international train, as Northern Ireland is part of the UK. The open and invisible border between the two means our journey is seamless and easy, with no passport or customs checks needed. First Plus - now seemingly also branded Enterprise Plus - is very comfortable indeed and is well patronised. In fact, on this trip there were a number of senior MLAs (members of Northern Ireland’s devolved Parliament) on board, though they aren’t pictured! One of the reasons this train feels roomy and comfortable is the fact that Irish trains run on a broader gauge - rails are five feet apart as opposed to European gauge used in Britain of four feet eight and a half inches. Autumn and winter aren’t the best for filming - lots of reflections and it being dark outside made for a fair amount of unusable footage....argh. For those of you who like to keep track of this sort of thing, yep - I took this journey immediately after my Newquay to Dublin flight with Aer Lingus! Enjoy the report. _____________________________________ Do you have any ideas for future trip reports? Something you've never seen on YouTube before? Why not suggest it to me in the comments? Trip to Monaghan Town, Hillgrove Hotel & Castle Leslie

04:45
Monaghan is a Northern County in Ireland (some do ask!) :-) And no, it is not in Northern Ireland (politically) but is geographically. It sits on the border with the North. A small town - great for nights out and food! County Monaghan is part of the Border Region and is in the province of Ulster and it is named after its county town Monaghan. After the 20th century Irish War of Independence and the signing of the Anglo-Irish Treaty, Monaghan was one of the three Ulster counties to join the Irish Free state rather than Northern Ireland - which is the reason why it is not considered in Northern Ireland politically but will be always seen as part of it from the geographical side. County Monaghan is not huge, it is considered the smallest of Ulster's nine counties by both size and population, but still it is considered a good place to head for and have some good time with friends, eat some good food, and even visit some attractions along the way - just the same way we did in our trip. Being in Monaghan and having some time to do several things, there are those places which we would recommend for our fans and followers. Monaghan County Museum is one of the attractions to visit in Monaghan which will tell you more about the history of the place, you could also pass by the Celtic High Cross and St. Tiernach's Grave, the Busy Bee Ceramics where you could make your own pot or decorate your set of ware, visiting St. Louise Convent Heritage Centre, going to St. Joseph's church, and there are those other places which you could still check but according to which town you will be visiting and staying at; for example, there is Inniskeen and Patrick Kavanagh Centre which are located in Inniskeen. Even though the main purpose of our trip was to meet up with some friends at Hillgrove Hotel, we also managed to pass by Castle Leslie - which was the first time for us to do so - and enjoy a walk around it, and we could say that it was truly a good experience to get to see something for the first time although you should have passed by it years before. Castle Leslie is home to an Irish branch of Clan Leslie which is both the name of a historic Country House and 1,000 acre Estate adjacent to the village of Glaslough, north-east of Monaghan town in County Monaghan. This castle is different because it is fashioned in the Scottish Baronial style and was designed by the firm of Lanyon, Lynn and Lanyon in 1870 for Sir John Leslie. The country house present a rather dour and austere facade and is sited in such a way so as to mask the gardens to an approaching visitor and there is also a Renaissance style cloister that links the main house to a single storey wing containing the library and the billiard room. We have passed by this Leslie Castle and felt ashamed of never being there before although I have been working a long time ago in the Hillgrove Hotel which I was heading to, but eventually things come our way and it was good to experience this castle and get the chance to know more about what it is and how it looks like. One important and good thing about this trip for us was the timing we have chosen - which might be a coincidence - but still, we managed to head to the Hillgrove Hotel to meet our friends when Christmas was just around the corner and this gave us the chance to enjoy the lighting of the place and get the festive feeling of Christmas, not just that, but it was also different to hear the Christmas songs at the petrol station while fueling the car =) The large towns in County Monaghan include Monaghan, Carrickmacross, Castleblayney, Clones (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UPBTE41X6WM), Ballybay and that's in addition to the other county towns which are found there and which include Ballinode, Doohamlet, Drum, Emyvale, Inniskeen, Glaslough, Killanny, Knockatallon, Magheracloone, Newbliss, Oram, Rockcorry, Scotshouse, Scotstown, Smithborough, Threemilehouse, Tydavnet, Truagh, and Latton. Ireland and Northern Ireland are filled with lots and lots of places, restaurants and bars which one could visit to check the history of the country and the attractions it carries and at the same time enjoy nice traditional food and drinks which might not be found anywhere else (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c1OekTvb1Nw). It is always important to make your trip to any country different and filled with different experiences and that is the reason why we are trying to bring you all the places we go to visit and all the experiences we pass by in order for you to write them down, plan your trip to Northern Ireland or Ireland, and directly head for them when you are eventually here. Share with us your experience with County Monaghan and tell us the things you liked most about the place and those which you might not recommend for other people coming in the future to visit it. Some of the best locations around Ireland / Northern Ireland and further afield. A travel blog/vlog of the hidden treasures that are on our doorstep.

Lunch in Ireland trip (HD)

02:01
Lunch in Ireland trip - House host in Ireland trip - Hospitality in Ireland, Ireland food Travel Videos HD, World Travel Guide http://www.youtube.com/subscription_center?add_user=World1Tube Ireland and Northern Ireland have long had the raw ingredients for a world-class cuisine—icy northern waters yielding fresh fish and shellfish, lush green grass for dairy herds, hillside wild herbs for free-ranging lambs, and traditional skills such as butchering, bread making, and whiskey distilling. Farmhouse Cheese ============== Cheese making dates back to the days of the monasteries here but nearly died out. It helped get the artisanal food movement going when it was reestablished in the mid-1970s by the makers of Milleens and Coolea cheese. Sheridans Cheesemongers, with shops in Dublin, Galway, and Kells, features over 50 Irish cheeses in a variety of styles from more than 30 artisan producers in the north and south. Sample before buying or head to the wine bar above the Galway shop for tasting platters to share. Seafood ======== The bounty of the sea is celebrated in festivals and on menus across the island. One of the biggest festivals is the Galway Oyster and Seafood Festival at the end of September. Alternatively, sample Irish bivalves at renowned oyster bars in the Saddle Room at the Shelbourne Dublin and at Mourne Seafood’s Dublin and Belfast locations, serving oysters from County Donegal and County Down, Northern Ireland. Learn the secrets of the Mourne Seafood chefs in classes at the Belfast Cookery School. Smoked Salmon =============== reland's smoked salmon deserves its own category. Salmon has been eaten in Ireland since prehistoric times and ties into Celtic mythology—the Salmon of Knowledge was considered the wisest of creatures. Smokehouses around the island smoke salmon with oak, beech, or turf, and restaurants typically serve it as an appetizer with brown bread. Oysters Restaurant in Strabane, Northern Ireland, presents a creative twist with pistachio-crusted, peat-smoked Irish salmon with martini and chive velouté. Lamb ======= The Irish take pride in lamb from specific regions—Connemara Hill lamb even has geographical protection from the European Union. Mary Gleeson of Gleeson’s Townhouse & Restaraunt, Roscommon, says it’s the sweet, grass-reared Roscommon lamb that makes her stew so tasty and admired. She cooks it in fresh thyme and rosemary-flavored broth with onions, carrots, celery, and potatoes. The Roscommon Lamb Festival in May offers a chance to taste local lamb cooked a variety of ways. Traditional Breads ============== Soul-sustaining bread is a staple for the Irish, notably soda bread with a cross cut into the top. The soda bread master is Peter Ward of Country Choice in Nenagh—heaps of his crusty round loaves are gone before day’s end. The northern specialty is oatcakes, with artisan baker Robert Ditty setting the standard at Ditty’s Home Bakery & Coffee Shop in Castledawson and Magherafelt, Northern Ireland. The Waterford blaa, a soft white roll dating to the 17th century, now has EU protected status. Third-generation bakers Michael and Dermot Walsh make fluffy blaas at M&D Bakery in Waterford City. Teatime ========= Ireland drinks more tea per capita than any other place in the world except for Turkey. There are charming tearooms all over Ireland and Northern Ireland, as well as luxury hotels offering elegant high tea.

05:36
Glendalough and the Wicklow Mountains are ideal for a day trip from Dublin and they're also the places where the Vikings TV show is filmed. In this small guide, I'll show you around Glendalough and some of the main attractions on the area. You can reach Glendalough by car, or with public transportation or even by booking a place with one of the many tours departing from Dublin. If you've more than one day, the area is worth a longer stay.
