Part 2 Creating an XML document using in memory collection of objects
Link for all dot net and sql server video tutorial playlists http://www.youtube.com/user/kudvenkat/playlists Link for slides, code samples and text version of the video http://csharp-video-tutorials.blogspot.com/2014/08/part-2-creating-xml-document-using-in.html In Part 1, we discussed creating an XML document by hardcoding the XML elements in code. In this video we will discuss, creating an XML document using in-memory collection of objects. In real time applications we usually have the data residing in a database table. There are many data access technologies available to retrieve data from the database. For example we could use 1. Entity Framework or 2. LINQ to SQL or 3. ADO.NET Once the data is retrieved from the database, the application may store the data in in-memory data structures like arrays, list, queue etc. So, now let us discuss creating an XML document from an array of Student objects. Here are the steps. Step 1 : Create a new Console Application. Name it Demo. Step 2 : Add a class file to the project. Name it Student.cs. Copy and paste the following code. namespace Demo { public class Student { public int Id { get; set; } public string Name { get; set; } public string Gender { get; set; } public int TotalMarks { get; set; } public static Student[] GetAllStudents() { Student[] students = new Student[4]; students[0] = new Student { Id = 101, Name = "Mark", Gender = "Male", TotalMarks = 800 }; students[1] = new Student { Id = 102, Name = "Rosy", Gender = "Female", TotalMarks = 900 }; students[2] = new Student { Id = 103, Name = "Pam", Gender = "Female", TotalMarks = 850 }; students[3] = new Student { Id = 104, Name = "John", Gender = "Male", TotalMarks = 950 }; return students; } } } Step 3 : Copy and paste the following code in Program.cs file. using System.Linq; using System.Xml.Linq; namespace Demo { class Program { public static void Main() { XDocument xmlDocument = new XDocument( new XDeclaration("1.0", "utf-8", "yes"), new XComment("Creating an XML Tree using LINQ to XML"), new XElement("Students", from student in Student.GetAllStudents() select new XElement("Student", new XAttribute("Id", student.Id), new XElement("Name", student.Name), new XElement("Gender", student.Gender), new XElement("TotalMarks", student.TotalMarks)) )); xmlDocument.Save(@"C:\Demo\Demo\Data.xml"); } } } Upon running the console application, an XML file with name Data.xml should be created in the respective project folder. To see the xml file, click on "Show All Files" icon in the solution explorer. Double click on the xml file to open it in visual studio.

PHP Generated XML File Not Showing Correctly in Chrome or Browser
Do you have an XML file generated via PHP and it does not work, despite the resulting code validating? While there might be a series of reasons why that is happening, I will show you in this video the most common reason why people run into this problem: The Content-Type is set incorrectly, or at least incorrectly to Google Chrome. Note that this was targeted for Google Chrome but this should fix it for your other web browsers too if it is WebKit based. The exception would be Safari in iOS if you are trying to open an RSS XML file, which it does not support. P.S. Sorry for the bad audio!

Webinar: oXygen XML Editor 17 - DITA Support
oXygen XML Editor 17 comes with many new additions to the DITA support. Topics and maps offer a choice of main rendering styles, as well as the option to add or subtract style layers. Guided DITA authoring was implemented as two optional style layers that allow you to see inline hints and actions. The CSS-based PDF transformation automatically uses the CSS styles you select for authoring, so that you can reuse the same CSS files when publishing DITA to PDF. Both DITA-OT 1.8 and 2.0 are supported and integrating a new transformation is greatly simplified for annotated transformation types, as oXygen will automatically discover their parameters. The DITA to WebHelp transformation optimizes the page loading time and provides context-sensitive help support, SEO resources, and LDAP authentication. The WebHelp output that now supports both RTL scripts and Japanese content can be easily embedded in a page. Watch this video to discover new DITA functionality in oXygen XML Editor 17!

George Bina (Syncro Soft/oXygen XML Editor): Schematron for Information Architects
George Bina (Syncro Soft/oXygen XML Editor) Schematron is a different kind of XML schema language, it focuses not on the grammar of the document but on different rules the structure and the content should follow. It is used successfully in the industry to enforce business rules on XML documents. Although it contains only 21 elements and a few attributes many people that do not have a technical background will be intimidated by the thought of learning Schematron. “Information architect” is an emerging profession in the XML information domain that defines a role responsible for the overall structure of the information models. Such a person should try to achieve consistent writing styles, structures, and reuse decisions and communicate and enforce the information model to information developers. While information architects will be able understand the business needs they will not necessarily be experts on XSLT, XPath, Schematron and other XML technologies. As one of the missions of an information architect is to enforce an information model and the use of a consistent structure and style, we can immediately infer that Schematron will be a great tool to master, but we cannot expect these people to become experts in Schematron. During many years of experience with Schematron I discovered that if we follow a set of best practice rules we can make Schematron accessible to anyone, thus enabling information architects to express business rules that will govern the XML information created by XML authors. We can structure Schematron rules to enable people that are not Schematron experts to create business rules in an easy way and we can take this idea further and build the business rules as part of a style guide, thus single sourcing the prose and the rules to automatically enforce the prose of the style guide. These ideas are materialized as an open source project on GitHub. Ajax Marathi - How ajax Works ?
Ajax - Asynchronous JavaScript And XML is a set of Web development techniques using many Web technologies on the client side to create asynchronous Web applications. With Ajax, Web applications can send and retrieve data from a server asynchronously (in the background) without interfering with the display and behavior of the existing page. By decoupling the data interchange layer from the presentation layer, Ajax allows Web pages, and by extension Web applications, to change content dynamically without the need to reload the entire page.In practice, modern implementations commonly utilize JSON instead of XML due to the advantages of JSON being native to JavaScript. Ajax is not a single technology, but rather a group of technologies. HTML and CSS can be used in combination to mark up and style information. The webpage can then be modified by JavaScript to dynamically display – and allow the user to interact with — the new information. The built-in XMLHttpRequest object within JavaScript is commonly used to execute Ajax on webpages allowing websites to load content onto the screen without refreshing the page. Ajax is not a new technology, or different language, just existing technologies used in new ways.

HTML to Your Eyes: The Browser Render Engine
Article: http://www.academyofone.org/browser-render-engine/ Visit: http://academyofone.org AoO Prime: http://www.academyofone.org/register-2/ Royalty free music licensed by http://www.stockmusic.net Royalty free photos licensed by http://www.bigstockphoto.com Script: Academy of One is a website. Written in HTML and formated in CSS. It’s the same for every web page on the Internet. The HTML and CSS provide the visual effects on the web. But here’s a question… How does an Internet browser, such as Firefox turn this HTML and CSS into this web page. What’s going on everybody! My name is Jack Jenkins and this is Academy of One. Today we are talking about the browser render engine. Before we get started on this video, you guys should have some knowledge of HTML and CSS. We have a, rather old, course on HTML5 and CSS3. A new course on web development is currently on the works so look out for that. I will also use a lot of computer terms and it will help if you had a deep knowledge of those terms. Checkout the series on introduction to computers if you want some knowledge on what they are. Alright, enough of the prerequisite garbage. Let’s talk about the browser rendering engine. The browser rendering engine is the software inside of the browser that turn mark-up, such as HTML and XML, as well as formating information, such as CSS and XSL, and turns it to the beautiful web pages you see. Let’s talk about browsers really quick. Browsers are made up of two main components: The engine and the host application. The engine takes the URL and grabs all the documents that URL points to. It will then display the information in the documents in the style the documents says. The engine is the software part that handles all the code. The host application provides the interface between the engine and the user. It’s the area that gives you the tabs, address bar, history as well as a bunch of different things. The host application is the UI of the browser. There are many types of web browser engines. Firefox uses gecko, an engine they built back in the Netscape days. Internet explorer uses trident, another old rendering engine made in the late nineties. Safari uses webkit, an open source rendering engine. Lastly, both Chrome and opera use blink, a newer render engine based on webkit. The render engines work in a pretty similar way and I will not be talking about the difference between them. That would be a whole ‘nother video in itself. The last thing we will talk about is the steps of the rendering chart. There are four steps to the rendering engine: Creating the DOM Tree, Render tree, layout tree and adding style to the tree. Let’s dive into each of these steps further. The render engine will create the DOM tree, or document object model tree, by parsing the script document and turning the information into nodes. To parse means it will translate the document into something the rendering engine can understand. The parsers, called HTML parsers, will construct a parse tree so the rest of the render engine software can do the other three steps. Let’s make a quick parse tree. The famous example is parsing the Expression 2 + 3 – 1. First we have the mathematical expression plus. Between the expression we have these two nodes, 2 and 3. So far the parse tree looks like this, but we aren’t done. Next we have the expression minus and next to that is the node one. The final tree looks like this. If we use an HTML example, we will create a DOM tree. Here’s some HTML of printing out this paragraph and this youtube video. The DOM tree will look like this. I should point out that CSS will also be parsed at this point. Now that we have our DOM tree it’s time to have the render tree. The render tree is the visual elements of the DOM Tree. For instance, the head in the DOM tree is not a visual element but an organizational one. This will not be transported to the Render tree. The layout tree is the render tree with position and size. Pretty simple. Lastly, the render engine will travers the tree and add the style information such as color and border. Alright guys, I hope you enjoyed this video into the browser render engine. fcpx finalsub tutorial HD.mov
Subtitling in Final Cut Pro X with FinalSub Before we get started, we recommend you to watch a video tutorial click Menu--Help---Video Tutorial 1.Recommended hardware and software Before you get started with Final Cut Pro X please evaluate your hardware and software because FCPX requires high config of CPU, graphics and memory It takes Title just as effects and we used to do hundreds of Titles so, high configurations are extremely important We recommend the following hardware and software Your Mac don't meet the recommendation? you can still go with it but you may need more time to show contents and titles and you may wait a long time for every edit 2. Making Title Templates with Motion 5 Make title in FCPX is quite different than FCP 7 FinalSub works with FCPX with xml files The changes you made to font, color, effect and position in FCPX is going to be lost during xml exchange So we have to change all font properties in Motion 5 and save it to FCPX Title templates to keep the font properties safe in xml files First, choose a Title in FCPX then right click on Basic Title click Open a copy in Motion in Motion you can change the properties specifically For instance change font size change position you can have detail settings via Inspector you can also choose loads of text effects till you work out an awesome title template When you finish the title click menu---File---Save Return to FCPX Right here in Title panel there is a new Basic Title copy template You can make several title templates in Motion in advance for later use in FCPX 3. Export Mov and XML in FCPX First, we should export the project to a movie choose menu Share---Export Media if you got a large project you got a long waiting. you can choose Audio Only or keep default settings Click on Next input a file name for the movie choose a directory click Save then we're going to make a title template for FinalSub to keep all those font settings drag the title Basic Title copy and drop it to the timeline now we're going to export this project to a xml file Click on icon Project Library choose the working project 'test' click menu File---Export XML... give a file name choose a directory, click Save 4. Subtitling in FinalSub ok, we're ready to go let's get into subtitling Launch FinalSub drag and drop the prepared movie if the movie file is big size please take a coffee when waveform is loading drag the xml file to the text viewer drag and drop the text script here now we're ready to play movie and make timecode after timecode been made and adjusted click menu File---Export FinalCutProX XML give a file name and choose a directory to save return to FCPX click menu File---Import---XML... all titles are presented on the timeline perfectly if you got a complex project with loads of titles walk around and make some coffee 5. Change font settings for FCPX we found that there is a problem with the title template 'Basic Title copy' the titles is confused by color with the background we used to add a outline for titles for instance we already made a title call 'Basic Title copy 1' with red color outline export you project to a xml file launch FinalSub drag and drop the xml file choose menu File---change FinalCutPro X Font choose title 'Basic Title copy 1' click Confirm next, choose menu File---Export FCPX XML export it to a xml file return to FCPX import the xml file generated in FinalSub you'll see all titles are outlined with red color BTW, we wanna show you the way how to add outline to the title in Motion all you gonna do is to click Inspector panel Text Style Outline More information www.finalsub.com/index_en.html

Construct2 :: Figuring out the XML Plugin
A video where I try to figure out how to use the XML Plugin which is in C2 by default (: It took a bit of time because the XML plugin doesn't give any feedback when you use it wrong. I cover: - how to use XPath (some simple basics) - how to get a node and write what is in it - how to loop through nodes - how to filter via attributes (there's a complex solution first and an easier one around the last third of the vid) I'll marked on the video when I struggled so you can easily skip those part (unless your interested in seeing how I usually go about figuring things out, or if you like watching people struggling :D) Don't hesitate to comment if you see something wrong, or if you want to add some usefull information (: capx available here: https://app.box.com/s/7szi1xrqdfld7jun9oc5
