Meet Shoshi, a well-known Japanese street style icon and aspiring select shop owner. Shoshi's life was changed forever after discovering a passion for fashion on the streets of Harajuku.
"Our Streets, My Style" is our original show taking you up close and personal with Japanese street style personalities. Meet the amazing people featured in the daily street snaps Tokyo Fashion has been publishing for over a decade.
Shoshi on Instagram and Twitter:
We first met Shoshi (aka Shoushi or Shoshipoyo) on the streets of Harajuku over five years ago. At that time, Shoshi - who prefers the pronoun they/them - was a Japanese high school student trying out different styles to find out who they were. In addition to their love of fashion, Shoshi was (and is) passionate about music. Shoshi counts Brooke Candy and Lady Gaga as two artists who've inspired them.
Over the years, we watched Shoshi's style and interests evolve. After graduating from high school and enrolling in Tokyo's most famous Fashion School, Bunka Fashion College, their unique style and personality began inspiring a younger generation of Harajuku kids, establishing Shoshi as an icon of the Japanese street fashion scene.
Recent years have seen Shoshi travel to Europe and America, collaborate with international creatives, work at one of Tokyo's most influential boutiques (Dog Harajuku), graduate from Bunka Fashion College, and flirt with the launch of their own online select shop.
Shoshi's future plans are far from clear, as Shoshi is always in motion and full of dreams and ambitions. What is clear is that wherever Shoshi goes from here, their time spent on the streets of Harajuku changed their life forever - for the better.
Follow Shoshi on Instagram if you'd like to keep up with their adventures. You can also ask them questions directly via their social media linked above.

gender doesnt define your gender (my personal believe or view)
be you !
why is it fine for women to wear pants but men doesnt allowed to wear skirt ?
whats wrong with men wearing skirt ? or having long hair ? long nair ?
most men i met have long eyelashes which is amazing !
they said you only live once so be happy yet they keep ‘controlling’ you on how you dress because its what ‘suppose’ to be
i dont believe theres anything ‘suppose’ to be, just be free and express yourself in clothes, make up, music or anything you find you can be you and show the world how amazing and creative human actually are
I love this guy and the idea for his shop saying free your mind! That is something I also wanna make a online clothing shop too one day. With unique clothing that stands out from others. Also being inspired by Japanese fashion and so on. I don't know but I hope to do that one day.
killersushi99 Considering some of the things Shoshi was talking about in this video and knowing what time period they’re referring to, Shoshi is definitely close to if not already 40, so I’m unsure what you’re trying to say with this comment, or if you think they’ll somehow change how they are once they reach 40, which is silly.
i've been following shoshi for a few months on instagram and really love their content but now i'm going to love and appreciate everything they post so much more!! their attitude is awesome, thank you for this video!
